R355C is 'CDMA' and uses the most excellent Verizon network.

Models ending in 'G' are 'GSM' phones on AT&T or T-Mobile network. The Nokia E71, 6790, and E5 are GSM phones.

Depending on what's strong in your local area you'd want to select accordingly. In my opinion if you travel, as I do, Verizon is the better choice.

I heard that if the model number ends with a c its cdma(verizon network) and if it ends with a g its gsm(at&t network). So if that is true then this is a cdma phone

yes, phone does have a key lock. go under settings, to auto key lock. turn it on. Problem is, that auto key lock doesn't activate until about 90 seconds after inactivity. so if you quickly shove it into your purse/pants, you can still press numbers. that's happened to me a few times. i was actually online, wasting my gigs, and didn't realize it. and i went into settings under security and tried to choose my own passcode, but it didn't take. hope this helps.

The Samsung R355C is a CDMA phone that operates on the Verizon Network. If the phone model # ends with a "C" it is a CDMA/Verizon phone/network. If the model # ends with a "G", it is a GSM phone/Network that operates on either AT&T or Verizon.

CDMA for Verizon only. All models ending in the letter C are for Verizon. Models ending in the letter G are GSM and work on the AT&T network.

I took my sd card out of my Virgin Mobile phone and put it in this one, and all of my full songs I had on there are still there and playing on this phone. It plays them as ringtones too. I have also had people send me ringtones and had no problem with that either.

It will accept a memory card, but you may not be able to use the graphics and the ringtones. The phone is touchy about ringtones. It will not allow someone to send you a ringtone, and will will not sync with my other phone so I can download them.

I read Straight Talk Terms Of Service and found streaming audio and using the phone as an internet connection for other devices is not part of "Mobile Web Access".

You are pmeritted to access the internet with 'native' apps, those provided with the Straight Talk phone (no matter which model you chose). It's not like a Blackberry, not a a comparable phone at all. You can do the most basic browsing and use webmail.

You'll pay much higher for streaming access, $90 to $120 month, from one of the big cell service providers.

This is why Straight Talk appears to compete but not really. 'Unlimited Mobile Web Access" is not the same as "Unlimited data usage".

answer 3
Web access is just like it is from other providers, like Sprint & ATT. The only problem I've had is at banking sites and other sites don't look so great. If you're using it for CNN or Yahoo, GMAIL, etc. it's adquate. I've not found a way to instant message though. If you go with the $30 "All you need plan" you max out at 30mb. That's not alot if you're on it 2 or 3 hours a day. If you just check the weather, email, Mapquest, on and off quickly 30MB is plenty. The $45 unlimited plan is just as described, unlimited data transfer.

You can transfer your number to Straight Talk phone at any time as long is your service for Verizon is still active. When you transfer your number to Straight Talk phone, you automatically close your Verizon account.

Once you transfer your number, your existing phone has no service. With no service and a year to go on your contract, you will probably have to pay Verizon their fee for breaking the contract.

WalMart has a contract to market StarightTalk phones and are even cheaper than purchasing direct through the StarightTalk website (mostly). These are still TracPhones, which just means they are pre-paid, but use towers from different carriers. Typically the phones from WalMart with a "c" at the end use Verizon towers and others use the AT&T towers

Tracfone manages Straight Talk service. It also manages the Net10 service.

Walmart has exclusive retailer rights to the Straight Talk service, an exlusive partnership with Tracfone.

If you purchase through Straight talk, then Straight talk services. If you purchase from NET10, then NET10 services. All cell phones are programmed to be used through one provider only unless "unlocked"

I currently use R355C on Straight Talk as my main #, I know it's Straight Talk.

Straight Talk, Net10 and Tracfone are in the Tracfone family but their unique services are not interchangeable.
