Questions & Answers for Earth Spirit Earth Spirit - Women's Brigitte Suede Boots

Question

I noticed these boots don't come in half sizes. I normally wear a 6 1/2; should I size up to a 7 or go with a 6?

I normally wear a 7-1/2 and went with a size 7. The half size would have been nice, but the 7 works too. I tried a size 8 and it was too big.

Thanks for all the answers guys! Yea, I was thinking that it would be better to size up than down too. I wear thicker socks with boots too, and my feet are wide anyway; so I would much rather have more room in the boots than not enough room and them be too tight! Much more comfortable that way! I think the 7 will work out just fine too. Thanks again for all the answers, you've all been very helpful!! :)

Hmmm...I wear a 9 or 9 1/2 so I got a 9 and they work fine. I'd try that - or order both and take the one back that's too big!!!

I'm an 8.5 and I ordered 9...they are roomy, but not too big. I tend to wear boots with thicker socks, so I always go up a size.

I went with a size up. they do fit, but i have quite a bit of room in the toes..thicker socks and shoe insert will definitely help.

I'd go with a 7. I think it's usually fair to say to order up than down. If they don't fit well, you can always take them back to the local Wal-Mart. I usually wear between a 9-10 in shoes, depending upon the type of shoe. I ordered the 10 in these and they fit just fine. I also have wide feet and these came only in medium. That's another reason I sized up. If your feet are really narrow, you may want to size down.

Go bigger. I bought mine a half size bigger than what I wear normally, they fit nicely and being show boots you'll need the room if you wear heavy socks with them.

I would suggest sizing up. Boots has fur and you could always wear thicker socks.

They do have a zipper, and not sure what shaft is but they are 10 inches tall, and at the top, they are 12-1/2 inches around (plenty big around).

This is my 2ond pair of Earth Spirit boots, and they are just as comfortable as the first pair. And I have a wide foot.

though i am very satisfied with the boots, the zipper still takes some "muscle" to zip up, obviously having to bend your knee to do it...so you may have to invest in perhaps a more expensive boot that has the smoothest running zipper possible if your knees are really tender

They are lined with flannel material - here in FL where the fall/winter is not too cold, they are very toasty

answer 3
I wore them when it was down in the 20 degrees F and they kept my feet nice and warm. I think if you were standing in the snow for a long time, your feet would start to get cold in them. It also depends on the type of sock you wear with them. I wore dress socks (which are kind of thin), so I'm sure some winter socks would help even more with them. I did put water proofing spray on them just to be sure they didn't leak.

you can waterproof them with a spray on waterproofer but they are great in water

They are lined with flannel - very toasty for the mild winter in FL. Because they are synthetic material, I think they are waterproof, but am not 100% sure. For the price, it would be worth taking a chance - you can always return to the store if they don't meet your needs.

Question

Calf Width

Just wondering how wide the calf is on these boots. I'd like to get them (if they are ever back in stock) but I have wide calves. If anyone has any info that would really be helpful!

Generally speaking, over many years, I don't recall EVER owning or buying lined Winter boots that are a must for Chicago winters that indicate 1/2 sizes. I guessed long ago that once you add wool socks, or thick stockings, etc. an "extra 1/2" inch of space "more" is worth having. "Air space" is necesssary on below zero days. You need this for blood circulation purposes. Another pair of socks and a 1/2 inch more becomes insignificant in the big picture of keeping your tootsies from freezing. In ageing this is especially important as blood no longer circulates like fire. I cut off the toe areas of old socks to add on for "zero" days. So much for that 1/2 inch leverage eh?
