Yes, you can assemble this carrier in less than one hour.

My wife assembled our cargo carrier, without my help. I only needed to tighten the nuts, after she assembled the carrier.

You will need a large rachet set and a wrench. The head of the bolts are fairly large, and you will need to hold the bolts with a wrench while you tighten the nuts.

I hope this helps.

You will need an 11/16" wrench, a 3/4" wrench and two fairly large adjustable wrenches. I found that a hammer was also useful for "adjusting" a couple of bolts. A 1/2 drive ratchet and sockets would make things easier in regard to the 11/16" and 3/4" bolts. Quite possible to assemble in the parking lot with those tools.

As long as you have the necessary tools assembly is a breeze. I used a couple of adjustable wrenches and socket sets and I was done in about 30 mins.

This is a very sturdy cargo carrier. However I opted not to use the lock system that came with it and bought a locking hitch pin. I also used some wood wedges instead of the "anti-wobble" device provided by the manufacturer. That said it rides like it was an extension of my vehicle's frame. Very solid and on my Ford Escape you tend to forget it is even there. I added some self adhesive reflectors and reflecting tape to the back and sides to make it more visible which probably wasn't totally necessary but might keep me from banging my knees on it.

I measured 16-1/2 inches as installed on my 2006 Ford Escape. When folded down and locked in the carry position there is plenty of room to open the rear hatch on my Ford Escape and have easy access the interior of the vehicle.

Would this fit my jeep liberty sport with tire on the back

Would I need to buy any hitch or this come with all you need to attach to my jeep?

Your Jeep will definitely need a trailer hitch receiver to work with this cargo carrier. This cargo carrier will probably clear a standard tire on the back of your Jeep when the cargo carrier is folded up. Really large width tires might be a problem. When the cargo carrier is folded down in working position it should clear any rear door mounted tire no problem.
