You have to recharge the monitor if you don't have it plugged in, the cameras are plugged in all the time the send their signal "wirelessly"

answer 3
The cameras need power supply and the power adapter has to be placed indoor. You have about 8 feet of cable from the power supply to the camera. I have the same misunderstanding that the camera was rechargeable but it is not. Only the monitor is rechargeable.

The UDW20055 is warrantied for use in the United States or Canada. It will require connection to electricity that meets the same standards as here in the United States. An electrical outlet is suggested for extended use of this surveillance system. The camera's battery life is 4 hours with normal use. The monitor's battery life is 10 hours with normal use.

answer 2
yes motion will set it off but you can only set up one camera at a time to detect motion in that one hour time period so if anything is going on around your other camreas you will miss it during that one hour time period that the other camrea has control of the system

answer 3
You can set up any camera to record either way (By motion detection or continuously), but only one can be recording at any given time. There is a scheduler in PC Mode where you can schedule in 1 hour increments, but again, only one camera at a time.

answer 2
Depends upon your set up. If VCR, depends upon your settings, if computer, depends upon your memory. Those are the limitations for the lenght of recording. You can set recording to record when it senses motion only so it saves space. You don't record when nothing is happening.

You can plug screen into any room to get signal and images off camera. If you move it, it cuts off till you plug it in again. Other camera we owned kept images on screen with battery back up but this one doesn't have that. Thats why I couldn't give it 5 stars

Yes you can but picture quality suffers the bigger you go. I use an older portable set and it's OK. And yes, the cameras connect to the current & the system is is wireless

answer 2
No, monitor first then using the AV cable to your TV. The monitor receives the wireless signal from the cameras then the monitor transmits that signal to your TV.
Yes, the cameras need power from your house then transmits the signal wirelessly to the monitor. The power cable is about 8 feet long and the camera power supply needs to be placed indoor. It is not a totally wireless
system, only the signal transmission is wireless.

answer 4
You can connect the unit to a TV using the AV cables however the system will not record without hooked to the PC using the recording software. The cameras the come with this system are the most current compatible cameras for the UDW series. The system's signal is wireless however the cameras & monitor will need to be connected to power at all times.

With the UDW series, the system can only record one camera at a time in the given time frame. You may want to look into the new Guardian series (G755 or G455). The Guardian series can record up to all 4 cameras at a time & does not need a PC to record.
