Are spanish games available for leapster explorer?

The only Spanish game I know of would be Dora the Explorer, but it mixes Spanish & English together.

Also, when you setup the Explorer.. you have to set the language. I have ours set on English, so I'm not too sure what happens if you set it on another language.

I am not sure that they do yet, as I have not seen any games in spanish version. Since this is a new product they probably will in the future. The only one that will be close to it is the Dora the explorer game, which teaches spanish and english while playing.

Yes. Only some games will allow that though. If you are getting the explorer for a boy, I suggest getting the Wolverine XMen game. That one allows you to create a spelling list for the game to use. If it is for a girl, I suggest getting the Tangled game. It does the same thing.

There are also games that you can create a Mathematics skill test for them. Those games are Tinkerbell and NFL rush zone.

When you connect your Leapster Explorer to your computer, you will see a tab to click on that says skill selector, and this will allow you to create the spelling list or math test for the game, and it downloads/syncs to the explorer.

They may add more games later on to be able to create lists and skill tests, but so far that is all. Overall the Leapster Explorer continues to be educational no matter what game the child plays.

I'm not sure of the difference with the systems, but I personally have gotten lots of good feedback about the Leapster vs some of the other competitors who make a similar product, that the Leapster is more durable and dependable for the money especially once it gets use with smaller children. These are comments from store clerks and parents who have invested in the Leapster for their children. I was puzzled too before purchasing. The rating online for Leapster products are also very good. I bought the brought for my great nephew. This product has more bang for your buck. I would recommend getting the recharger with the Leapster I was advised that you can download more programs onto the Explorer, and that parents can monitor how the child is progressing. Hope this helps you a little more I was at a loss too when figuring it out. The different places I went to compare pricing on the Leapster, 90% of the places recommended the Leapster vs. other products out there. Walmart I found to be the cheapest.

Question

Where is the included Letter Writing game?

I cannot find the Letter Writing Game in the system. My husband and I were both trying to figure that out last night until we gave up and put it back in the box. I know you can BUY Mr. Pencil, but I'm under the impression that it has an included art program and a letter writing program... any insight on that?

Our baby is 3 and I wanted this to help him learn to write and hopefully learn other basic preschool lessons in a fun way--as an addition to what we already do at home. I'm feeling kind of disappointed, so far, in the amount of "Level 1" games and activities.

the letter writing game that is included with the game system is in the "pet" game when you turn on your device.

in the pet game there are various things that you can do to entertain and take care of your pet, (bathe them, feed them snacks, play flingo, and the letter game)

i hope this helps

The pet game that is included has a part where you do tricks. You need to trace the letters and the pet will do tricks.

My son has both.
the leapster is cool too! it teaches you kids skills as they play games..like telling your kid to get lower case d's for example to pass a level..it's a great system.
this year we got him the explorer because it had a bigger screen and it's brighter and we bought the adapter to mak it into a video recorder and camara and you can download ebooks to it but connecting it to the computer with the cord. Leapster explorer has way more add-on options.

I know that they have different size game cartridges. I think explorer games can go up to age 9 only there aren't alot of game choices for that age. I bought the leafrog explorer for my daughter last year and at first was really dissapointed but she still likes it and plays with it.

Yes you can use headphones. The screen quality is great especially compared to other electronic learning toys from other brands.. Not sure what the dimensions are though. I would say about the same or bigger than a DS.

You can use the AC adapter plug with is but as far as I can tell you need to get the recharging pack that comes with the recharging station. We have used both the recharging station and when my daughter wants to play & charge we just plug the cord right into the Explorer. Hope that helps!

my son usues the adapter plug in to the wall and it doesn't charge it just lets him use it from the wall. Also you can buy 4 AA batteries and it will run on that or buy the charging system seperatally,

The LeapFrog Leapster Explorer can be used anytime when plugged into the wall with the AC adapter, but the AC adapter alone will not recharge the device.

Question

Leapfrog Explorer

Does this unit still have all the trailers and ads that can't be turned off? I have heard many parents complain about how great this unit is but they can't believe Leapfrog allowed all this trash and confusion. These notes were from 2008 and 2009, but nothing recent.

Thanks.

There are still trailers on the game, in one localized "app" area, which can be annoying, but my son doesn't seem to mind watching the game previews.
