Thank you for your question. Pour 1 pint (2 cups/500 ml) vinegar into water reservoir. Press on, turn off after 20 seconds and wait 30 minutes. Press on, turn off when finished brewing. When cool, dispense several cups before emptying and rinsing reservoir. Run 2–3 more brew cycles with clean water only. Allow to cool between cycles.

EASY to clean. Just lift top up, basket and interior come out easily. I rinse every day, and wash with soap and water maybe once per week. You can also run a cup of vinegar and rest water through machine once per month.

There is a tool to remove and clean the filter. The rest can be cleaned with a sponge and water. DO NOT submerse the unit into water. Also, run a cup of vinegar with a cup of water through the unit every couple of months.

answer 10
The 2 lift out pieces (basket and water reservoir) are dishwasher safe. I usually just rinse them out and only wash as needed.
When my coffeemakers get stained from the coffee, I run white vinegar and water solution through a cycle just as making coffee...vinegar & water in place of coffee grounds. I have had good results with that.

There are online sites that give directions/solutions for cleaning coffee makers. I like Ask.com and eHow.com.

Once a month run vinegar through it once, then 2 or 3 times run water thru to clean out. If you have hard water, they suggest doing this once a week.

Question

Hamilton beach brewstation 48464

Does it have a brew now option? One of the main reasons I want this maker is because of the timer, but I'm going to be using this coffee maker and some mornings I might decide I want coffee and want to make on the spot. Anyway to do that other than setting the timer for the current time?

Question

Does the model# 48464 brew using decaffeinated coffee without making a mess?

Every coffee maker we’ve tried seems to have a problem with decaffeinated coffee since it is finer ground. It overflows the paper filters or clogs the finely meshed permanent filter and in either case causes a mess.

I use decaffeinated coffee sometimes, but I buy whole bean and grind it myself. I think the flavor is better when I do my own grinding, and perhaps you would be able to control how fine the grind is and therefore not have the issues you've been having. I buy whole bean coffee at Price Chopper, if that's any help. Many other grocery stores will have that option for you as well. Hope this helps!

Yes it will fit under the cabinet, but you will have to pull it out to make coffee because the top lid lifts up pretty high when you raise it to make coffee. Once you have filled the coffee pot with water and put the grounds in the coffee filter and close the lid you will be able to place it back under the cabinet while the coffee is brewing.

No the Coffeemaker does not need to be turned on, just plugged in. Set your clock and then set your timer and finally hit "Start Time". Here is what you do:

1) To set clock: Press H and then M. NOTE: Clock time must be set for programming function to work.
2) To program auto brew: Press and hold START TIME until clock flashes. START TIME will appear in display. Continue holding START TIME; then press H and M until the desired brewing start time is reached.
3) Press and release START TIME to activate automatic brewing. A green light and a "BEEP" will signal that the unit is in program mode.

Yes. All you do is remove the coffee filter and lift out the tank with the handle and fill it with water to however many cups of coffee you want to make and pour the water in the back of the coffeemaker, then replace the tank back. When the coffeemaker brews the coffee it dispenses the coffee into the lift out tank that you use to fill the coffeemaker.
