Yes, 3 x USB 2.0 ports (1 eSATA combo port), 1 x microphone jack, 1 x headphone jack, 1 x RGB monitor output, 1 x HDMI input, 1 x RJ-45 Ethernet port

It's nice cause you can use both screens at once. I plugged it into my 21 inch HDMI tv/monitor and it works awesome. You can have something on both screens and go back and forth at the same time or just set one as the main.

Lets see, I'm not sure what that port is. I will type what I see. USB/eSATE, Media Card Reader. I see a hole for ear phones and another by it, that has the symbol it looks like a lock. On the other side a socket for I would guess a printer. I was told when I bought this another hard drive can be put in this.

Yes, if your scanner or printer has a USB interface and the manufacturer of your scanner or printer has drivers for Windows 7. Depending on the age of your scanner or printer, these drivers may be on the CD that came with your device. Otherwise, browse to the manufacturer's web site and look under "Support". Then look for, "Downloads", or "Software & Drivers",... something along those lines. Be sure to have the model number of your device handy. You will need to enter that at some point in order to get to the correct download page.

You just need to run an ethernet cord from your modem/router to the laptop. Or you can buy a wireless router to give you WiFi.

answer 2
You will need to run an Ethernet cable from the left hand side of the computer, (near the left control key,) to your internet router or tether it to a smart phone with internet access and mobile hot-spot capability. The are are also cellular broadband adapters available for several different providers that you can simply plug into a usb port on your computer.

Ethernet cable? It depends on what you're trying to do but if it's moving files, an external hard drive may be the best way to go.

I've had my S7013 for two months now and it works quite well, except that the number pad is inadequate. This is a known problem, and I hate to complain about an otherwise very decent computer (given the price) but this is a common problem and as far as I know Toshiba has done nothing about it.

You can also try the different types of laptop cooling stations.

Cheep ones you just set your lapton on it, and it raises the vents up slightly, to get better air flow in and out.

Another type and cost about $20-25 is one that your laptop sits on flat, and it has two built in fans that draws away the heat from your exit ports a little faster, like an exhust fan, it also has a usb cord that plugs into one of your usb ports to supply power to the cooling station to run the fans.

answer 4
Great question and I think it is less about Toshiba’s cooling system and more about where and how you use the systems. YOU HAVE TO KEEP THE VENTS CLEAN FOR THE COOLING SYSTEM TO WORK!
Looking at the L555 the vents intake vent is on the bottom of the system so to keep this system running cool you want to keep that vent open. This laptop is also in the desktop replacement category because of the screen size is 17.3” diagonal so it is designed to be used on a hard surface to keep adequate airflow. If you want a system that you want to use on a soft surface look at the L645, great system however the cooling vents are more on the side and not on the bottom.
More Tips
*Make sure your vents are not blocked in any way. This is the only way a laptop can expel hot air and blocking them is the equivalent of cutting off your air supply. Routinely take canned air and place the straw inside each of the vent holes and give it a quick shot of air to help blow away internal dust that may be preventing the heat sink from doing its job (be careful as too much air can go past the heat sink and make the fan spin off its bearings, messing it up)
You may also wish to open up your laptop and carefully dust the inside components with canned air but doing this usually voids warranty so it's probably best to wait until your warranty is expired. If you open your laptop off, you may also consider applying some cooling paste to the heat sink itself (there are several sites that will show you how to do this)

* Give your laptop a break. When you notice your computer getting very hot, save your progress, close down your programs and give it a break for 30-60 minutes to let it cool down some. Resource-intensive programs like video editing, photoshop and games will make a laptop get hot faster than anything else.

* Never use your laptop on a soft surface like a bed, blanket, etc. These can easily block the vents and trap heat inside without you even realizing it. Take the same precaution for your power adapter. I had a power adapter fry on me because I inadvertently had it covered by a blanket.

*When not using your laptop (such as when you're sleeping), power it off and allow it several hours to cool internal components off.

If you want to keep your laptop, take these precautions and do NOT let your laptop overheat to the point where it shuts itself down. This actually does harm to your computer. With my last laptop I was naive to the overheating problem and it messed up my hard drive to where windows wouldn't even start right and would crash randomly. You need to ask yourself what's worse: having to stop working for a bit or having your computer permanently damaged by overheating.

In addition looking thru the Toshiba support forum I do not see heat as being an issue with this system.
