BT IIs are NOT waterproof & they do NOT wick away moisture. That said, I have a pair of waterproof books. They make my feet sweat. The BT IIs do NOT ! They're my preferred bike boots even in the Southern HEAT ! In fact, if its over 100 degrees, I hose them down 'till they are soaked. The wind evaporates the moisture and cools my feet while I'm riding.

Question

I need to buy boots with the ANSI Z41-1991 rating for safety shoes

I currently work maintenance and we have been thru some new safety training requiring our safety shoes/boots to have the ANSI safety rating. Do these shoes or any of the shoes, sold at or by walmart, have this safety rating? Thanks

I have a pair of the Herman Survivors from Walmart. I wouldn't recommend them. The sole is extremely slippery when used in the woods during the summer. In the winter, snow packs into the heel of the sole making it feel like you're walking on a tennis ball.

I would say it's a steel toe. There's a huge difference between steel and dense plastic, and if for no other reason than product liability and potential litigation, it makes sense that the boots are probably steel-toed as advertised.

Occasionally, when moving stuff around (cabinets, boxes, etc.) I've set things down on my foot to adjust my grip. No problems.

Steel, I've worn thru the leather due to my bending and sweeping one foot so the steel is now exposed. I prefer composite for weight reduction, but yeah, they're steel
