Sure, most companies will "let" you upgrade early! However, it might cost you your first-born kid! Understand that at the 2 year point, they know that you can walk away to anyone else. before that, you are under contract to them for that good old 2 years. The iphone 5 would cost you a tremendous amount of money to trade up, in fact there is no trade about it! That phone you have now is most likely worthless. My advice is to try to tough it out until your contract is up and then you are more in the drivers seat than they are but please do your homework before you walk into the store! Know your options and also your signal strength at home or whereever you intend to use your cell phone the most. Good luck!

Yes, most carriers like Verizon will offer a subscriber (customer), what is called an Early Upgrade. Just ask.
