Shark Shark Navigator Upright Bagless Vacuum with Premium Pet Accessories, NV22L

Is your current vacuum not cleaning the pet hair like it used to? Most vacuums clog and lose suction over time. I don't think it's a quiet one, but apparently I don't have good knowledge of vacuums because my friend used it and said she loved how quiet it is compared to hers. And I vacuumed, while holding her 5 month old, who didn't mind it at all and she's a pretty picky baby about sounds.. so yeah, fairly quiet :)

When I bought mine the box didn't say it came with an extra set of filters.

The users guide on page 9 just shows to just wash them every three months under normal use and that they will discolor over time but does not affect thier performance, though I wash mine and let them air dry whenever I see them getting overly dirty.
A friend of mine has had hers for three years and has not had to replace them yet.
If you need to get replacement filters though you can order them from thier website www.sharkclean.com

I have bought my vacuum through Shark and got extra filters (I paid more for the vacuum too) but when I bought it elsewhere it did not have the extra set. I bought an extra set for all my vacuums so I can have a clean set ready (I have a cleaning business and have 4 NV22L's). You can get them on the site www.sharkclean.com

Mine had no extra filters either. If you notice the WM at the end of the model number, this usually means it is packaged by Shark just for Walmart. Although the user manual states that it should have extra filters, I'm fairly certain that skipping the extra filters is one of the ways they keep the price so much lower than elsewhere. I'm still happy with the quality of the vac and especially the price I paid.

I find it to be a breeze to push while the brush is engaged on carpet with a bit of drag on the pull back. As far as using it I find it to be the simplest vaccum I've ever had, just read through the guide.

And the upkeep is easy as the guide gives you clear instuctions on how to maintain the vacuum.

The Shark Navigator is extremely easy to lift and to push and pull. My dad was impressed with my sweeper after I used it at his house(after he just swept with a $600 Dyson) and bought one. He is in his 70's and is limited on what he can do. This sweeper is perfect for him. I myself love it and have 4 (I have a cleaning business).

Our home is 100% tile floors for the exception of a few area rugs that I have put down. If you follow the instructions and flip the button to turn off the beater bar (the setting for hardwood/bare floors), it does amazing. It's so sandy here in Key West and this little monster picks up dirt that even the broom leaves behind. Highly recommended.

How do these do on high-pile carpet?

I cannot believe I can't find one hint ANYWHERE about how these Sharks fare on high-pile carpet. I really want to get one for my sister, but she has high-pile carpet---not shag, just longer than what you would call "medium-pile." So, anyone have any experience?

Mine work great and the only time it threw dust was when I forgot to turn off the brush when I had it on bare floor, and the first time I dumped it I held the canister too high over the garbage can instead of lowering it down into the can.

They recommend that filters are washed out every three months.....it comes with extra filters so you can still use the vacuum as the filters are drying. And yes, the switch has two settings: the first is for suction only and the second turns on the beater brush.

I think it recommends that you wash the filter at least once every 3 months. But I guess that would depend on how much or often you use the unit..?? You do get a spare "foam" filter with it so that when you wash it..you have the spare to use so the washed filter has time to "dry" completely... And YES, it does have a switch that you can turn the beater brush off.. it's "built in" to one switch..whereas, there is a "toggle/rocker" switch.. that has the different positions..
