Yes! And it's loud. You can turn it off though. You can even adjust its sensitivity to sound (vibrates to small noises or only to loud crying, etc.)

answer 5
There are 2 different ones (that look the exact same), one vibrates and the other doesn't. If it isn't showing it to the the one with the vibrator then it likely isn't it. That would be something to check out in person to find out for sure you have the correct item number. Mine does but it came from Babies R US

yes, the vibration function is really neat. however, its not quite as strong as a cell phone vibration, so it may be hard to detect depending on its location.

answer 8
Yes, it has a user selectable vibrate alert, meaning it will alert at the noise level that you pick so every little coo doesn't alarm, but a cry will

Yes, they both have AC adapters and both have battery back up as well. Although the parent unit has a rechargeable battery pack, the baby unit uses three AAA batteries as backup.

The receivers do but not the transmitter. I would say that this is because battery life for the transmitter would be too short since it probably consumes more power.

I had asked if you could change the frequency on this monitor and believe you could not. I bought the monitor anyway and discovered as I was reading the instructions that you can change it. There is a little 'ch' button on the baby's part of the monitor that changes it. I haven't used this monitor yet though, so I have no idea how well any of it works. Just thought I'd answer my own question in case anyone was wondering.

The initial charge should be for 24 hours. And DO NOT turn it on while it is charging the first time. After the first charge I usually let it let it charge for a good 8-10 hours overnight. And I leave it on while it's charging. This usually will get me through all of the next day and usually I only need to charge it every other day.

I would think so. I use mine for a similar situation and it works great. Take it over there and test it out before you put all you trust in it.

The best way to know is by testing it. I can go down to the barn which is rather far from the baby's room. A mile is 5280 feet so that should give you a better idea.
