Yes, it's easy to fold up. I have cervical and thoracic spinal problems and am very limited at what I can do with some things. If you can lift 45 pounds, you will have no problem at all. I have mine in a corner of my bedroom, and I live in a small apartment. It says to leave 8 ft clearance behind you, but I don't have that room. It's no problem at all.

Question

For the Weslo Cadence G 5.9 Treadmill, will it be assembled upon delivery or does the customer have to assemble it?

I am considering purchasing this treadmill, however I am aware that the parts can be really heavy. So I wanted to know if it was delivered and then assembled or was it just delivered and assembly is on us?

We bought ours at a store. If a delivery service will bring it in your home, do it.

I have a severe back injury which does not allow me to do any work or twisting low. My wife of 110 lbs and I used a two wheel dolly (rented at hardware store for 3 bucks)

Placed the box on our living room floor and went to work. No problem. No heavy lifting. Does need two people for putting the base on the deck after this, it can easily be done by one person.

The machine is in 3 major parts, the deck being the heaviest. Not bad though. We actually had a bit of fun putting it together.

Purchasing from WalMart, no, fedex or ups will not put it together for you but they do have a number you can call to have someone assemble it for you but it cost about $170.

I put it together myself with a little help from someone else. It took less than an hour.

It's not already assembled but there's only 6 parts to put together, my daughter and I assembled it in 55 minutes. Very easy to assemble. It is advisable to have two people to do it, not because it's that heavy, you would simply need four arms to do it by yourself. It's really simple to put together, honest, I have no reason to lie about it. It will take no more than an hour. It's not super heavy like your thinking, but still really srong.

It is delivered in a box...You can pay a Weslo tech to put it together for like 150 but it's sooooo NOT worth it..It's not that hard to assemble..You just need two people to carry it in the house...if you get it from walmart they will roll it out to your car and help you put it in your trunk so you will just need a friend once you get home!

I purchased it in the store and brought it home. It's not near as heavy as you would think. A friend of mine took it out of my truck my hisself. I'm a female & me & my 58 year old mother put it together. As long as you have one person to hold machine still while another one applies the screws, you'll be fine. The 1st thing you do is screw on the base with the machine on its side, then you stand it up and from there you screw on the arms and the console and that's about it. It's only about 6 steps total. Took us 45 minutes. If we had more muscle power to screw in the bolts it wouldn't have taken that long. It's worth it!

Is this unit good for someone who only walks?

I'm not into running (too stressful for my joints), but I don't mind walking fast.

If so, how many of the speeds are for walking instead of running?

Question

How do I get the walking belt to work when I press start?

I purchased the Weslo Candence G 5.9 (Treadmill) and put it all together. When I press start the walking belt is not moving. I can force move it with my feet but I was under the impression that once you press start the belt would start moving at the speed that was currently listed. Anyone have any suggestions on what could cause this issue?

I had the exact same problem. I would turn it on and only the display would work. I was about to pack it up and take it back. But, I decided to read the manual (I should have done this in the first place). On page 11, the manual explains there is a demo mode on the machine that is used for store displays. If you machine happens to have this mode on, the display will work but the belt will not move. To turn off the demo display: "hold down the Stop button for a few seconds." I did this and it started working.

you need to put the red magnet on the spot in the center then just press the number that you wish to start out at, I prefer 2 to begin with as 1 is quite slow. You can also choose a workout from one of those listed on the treadmill, then use the start button to start the workout.

You need to make sure that the small, round, red key is in the magnetic spot under the display. If the key is not in it's spot, the machine will not start. It is actually a security feature in case you are working out and come off the machine, the key will come off with you and the machine will stop.

You should have a key. Which doesn't look like a key. That had me wondering just like you as to how to start the treadmill.

Anyway this key looks like a round red fat button (there's a magnet in the middle of the red button) hanging from a black nylon cord.

Place the red button on the indented key symbol located in the lower middle of the display board.

You'll see that magnetic part of the red key quickly attach to the display counsel and you see the board light up. One that happens, hit the start button and enjoy.

Make sure you have the orange key in the right spot for one, then down on the edge of the treadmill (the plastic at the front of the belt holder) there is a switch that you need to click to the left. It is beyond the Weslo print, beside the plug that feeds into the machine. See pics. The instructions say to always make sure and turn it off and on each time you use it. I made that mistake at first, then found it and make sure I turn it off when I am done each time too.

Press the plus button, it will begin accelerating your speed. At 3.5-4.0 you're really moving! Set it higher if you intend to run.

It's actually on the quiet side. I usually watch the news while i am walking and i have no problem hearing the TV on the normal setting.

I do not think it is noisy at all. I do my work out in the living room while the rest of my family sleeps in the morning. Noone has complained yet.

It is very quiet. I walk in the mornings while my family is still sleeping and it doesn't bother them at all.

Not noisy at all. The most noise is from your feet pounding not from the motor.

To be honest, it is a bit noisy (not real bad, though). I suggest listening to an MP3 player while you do it. You can watch TV too although you'll probably have to turn the volume up pretty high.

I think it is marginally quieter than some others I have owned/used. But you'll hear it in the next room.
