auto shut off

Love the new grind and brew however once the coffee has cycled it automatically shuts off. I have tried everything I can think of, read the instruction manual over and over, what am I doing wrong that the coffee will not stay on for the typical 2 hour period????

Since it brews into a thermal carafe it does shut off. Make sure you warm up the caraf by putting hot water in it while you are getting the coffee maker ready. It helps keep the coffee hot longer.

That is what it is designed to do. Once it is brewed, it is only kept warm by the carafe.

This coffee maker shuts off after brewing, all SS carafe coffee makers do this. Glass carafe coffee makers need the 2 hour time to keep the coffee hot. I pre heat the carafe by filling it with boiling water before brewing and it keeps the coffee hot for 2 hours or more.

This unit is designed to auto shut off 75 seconds after brew cycle finishes since it has the insulated pot. There is no way to keep the hot plate on. Pre-heat your pot with hot water before you brew which will keep the coffee hotter longer.

with thermal carafes - the coffee maker turns off once brew cycle is complete. Can't make it stay on longer - depend on the thermal carafe to keep coffee hot for a few hours.

There is no heating element like a traditional coffee maker. The coffeemaker shuts off because it is finished with grinding and brewing. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot, not the plate below it.

It's not supposed to. The crafe is "supposed" to keep the coffee warm once it's brewed

It shuts automatically after brew cycle is completed. The element does not keep the coffee warm. The design is for the carafe to keep coffee hot. It is thick-walled and, I think, does a good job at that. An earlier comment to pre-warm the carafe with hot water is a good idea.

The coffee maker costs about $ 100.00, Not sure if it comes in red, but I would take the money and buy a Cuisinart, we did, we had trouble with the BHG coffeemaker from the start. The best part is that they are both about the same price. No sence in buying a knock off when you can get a good brand name for the same money ! Hope this helps !

On the front controls, there is a Grind Off button. Just select that before you select the on. This stops the maker from grinding before brewing.

Yes you can, all you need to do is push the grind button, once the LED lights comes on that means it will not grind and you can use regular pre-ground coffee in it.

You can use already ground coffee and just push the "Grind Off" button prior to pushing the "On" button. However, I do suggest purchasing and trying the freshly ground beans. The difference is really noticeable.

Push "Program" button and hold it until the clock starts to flash. Then, set the time that you want it to brew. That is all. It will revert back to the time of day after about ten seconds. To verify that it is programmed and the program time, just push the "program" button, briefly. As you push it, the program time will light up, then revert back to time of day as you release it.

Question

How do you program the coffee maker?

Purchased BHG 10 cup grind & brew. Have read instructions and tried to program coffee maker to brew coffee in the a.m. The instructions are not clearly written and there is no indictor on the display to let me know if I have successfully completed the program function. And since it didn't work this a.m., obviously I wasn't successful in programming the coffee. HELP!!! An image in the instruction booklet would've been helpful.

After programing it, did you set it to program, so it will start in the AM? If the blue LED light around the program button was not on it was not set to start. just push the button and once the light is on it is set to start.

Directions say to fill carafe with hot water and empty just before brewing to help keep coffee hot for longer periods. I find 30 seconds in the micro is just right, too.

The burner shuts off once done brewing.. The thermal carafe should keep the coffee hot for hours just like a thermos (at least mine does). I have heard of people pre-warming the carafe with hot water before brewing, however, I have never found the need to do this myself.
