That sounds unsafe - you are bypassing a critical safety system and you risk starting a fire.
I had a similar heater of a different brand that I kept having to reset, and finally it stopped working altogether. I replaced it with this one.
These heaters are not made to last for many years, unfortunately. You will probably have to replace it.

To my knowledge there is no reset button. The white plastic button on the bottom is the safety tip-over switch that MUST be engaged in order for the heater to work. This means the heater must be sitting on level, solid ground in order for it to operate.
