From my research, each phone will require a $25 activation card. I was able to transfer my straightalk to this plan along with the same phone number. Service must be active for the transfer if you are planning on keeping the same phone numbers.

First off, you can bring over the boost and straight talks phone # over to Family Mobile.. Also known as 'porting/port'. BUT before you can port those #s over. The boost/straight talk phones MUST be activated (still able to call, text, ect.) Now the process to port a # over is very simple. You just need eather a bundle pack that comes with the phone and the activation kit. If you have an unlocked gsm phone you just need the activation kit.. Eather way, the activation kit that comes with the sim card is still the same even if you put it in a Family Mobile phone or in an unlocked phone. the process is simple. You would call the 1-877 number on the back of the activation kit and follow the steps. In one of the options you would select the option to 'transfer your # to Family Mobile'. Then you would get transfered to a customer care rep to finish the port and also, your account settings.

After the call to Family Mobile, the 5 lines would be activated. Now the ones being ported over to Family Mobile, those could take 2 hours to 2 days to fully process to Family Mobile. Sometimes it could be up to 24 hours. When the #s are transfering to Family Mobile, they could still use the phones on boost/straight talk until the #s are transfered over. Eventuly, when you are using the phones being ported over, some of the service (on the Family Mobile phone) you can use. I.E - texting, calling, web, .ect.. But it could still take up to 24 hours to 2 days to fully transfer tho.. If (for some reason) it takes longer than 2 days call Family Mobile costomer care to find the issue.

I hope this helps.

Most phone numbers are transferable through the TracFone website. Your phone number must be part of a plan currently in service and allow up to seven business days for the transfer to be complete.

No. There is no unlimited webpak for Family Mobile. There are three different webpaks:
$10 webpak - 200Mb
$25 webpak - 500Mb
$40 webpak - 1000 MB

*NOTE* 1Mb = 80 web pages (appx)

TracFone does not require a credit check. The activation process is much simpler than the hoops you have to jump through for traditional contract-service carriers.

Ok.. Little bit of confusion here... the activation kit comes with the sim card, activation card and manuals. NO PHONE. The one line (or selected 2-5 line) COMES WITH the phones and whats stated in the activation kit.. And finaly Family Mobile DONT US MINUTES!! - It is UNLIMITED talk and text ($45 for first line, $25 for additional line - up to 5 lines).

- I hope this helps.

The kit comes with the phone, a standard wall-charger, and 20 minutes airtime. You will need to purchase additional prepaid minutes -- it is recommended that you do this right away and activate at the time that you activate the phone. The phone kit also comes with a booklet of coupons that you can use towards the purchase of minutes. And as a bonus this phone kit comes with double-minutes for life.

The activation kit is only to get the service started. You still need to select which plan you would like. You only need to purchase the activation kit once.

Pretty much means you have no service. When you buy the activation kit, it comes with a SIM card. The SIM card is what powers the phone along with storing data.

inactive means that it has not been used in a while or the bill has not been paid. You will need an activation kit to use this phone, provided the phone works.

An "Inactive Sim" would possibaly mean eather of these two:
1. T-Mobile droped service to the sim.
meaning you could reactivate the sim with new service with them.
- or -
2. T-Mobile droped service to the sim and make it not able to reactivate.

I know its eather one of these two.. You could call them to find out if you could use the sim with T-Mobile.
-I hope this helps.

*NOTE* You cant use a att/tmobile sim with Family Mobile. It has to be a Family Mobile sim for you to get a phone # with them.

It is called a "postpaid" account rather than prepaid. You can either buy a card in Walmart every month or just set it up through your bank so you never have to worry about losing your number. Minutes & text are unlimited.

Family Mobile does not use minute cards. Family Mobile is a post-paid service that does noty mail out the bill. There are several different payment options available:
"*1. Automatic payments(AutoPay)- You can set up AutoPay through your online account access at myfamilymobile.com With AutoPay, your monthly payments are automatically processed each month. You have the option to pay using a checking account, an ATM/Debit card or a credit card.
2. One-time payment – You can make an individual, one-time payment at myfamilymobile.com or through the automated phone system using a checking account, ATM/debit card, or credit card.
3. Pay at a Walmart location – You can make a payment at any Walmart location in the US. Use the Store Locator, to find a location near you. Please note: There is a processing fee of $0.88 for this payment option.
4. Pay over the phone – You can make a one-time payment or set up AutoPay through our automated phone system, or by speaking to a Customer Service representative by calling 1-877-440-9758 or dialing 611 from your Family Mobile phone. Please note: All payments made with a Customer Service representative require a $5.00 processing fee."
For the bill in mail, "*No. All Family Mobile accounts automatically receive text message billing notifications. With this service, when your bill is prepared each month, you receive the total amount and date due via text message to your phone. If you require more detail, you can view your full bill online when you sign in to myfamilymobile.com. You can also choose to receive a bill reminder via email; you can select this option in your Profile on the myfamilymobile.com website"
The only one that is kinda like pre-paid is the webpak. You would use it when you need it and it does not expire!

- I hope this helps
