Tap the cup with a hammer around the bottom where it connects to the base. This will help loosen the vacuum and it should twist off. I was able to get the base off after using this method the first try. Nothing else worked for the last two days.

rotate cup clockwise to turn on, rotate it back to turn off. You can also "click" it into the on position and let it run.

There's no off and on button. Once you lock the cup into the base you turn it into locking position and it automaticly blends. It has to be locked in to turn on.

It turns on and off, when you twist it when it is on the base. When plugged up, it is in the OFF position. Plastic Glass containers have three grooves that it fits in the blender and when its turns to the left, it turns the blender on. When turned is such a way that the grooves are aligned to come out, then it is off

I did not see that it is suppose to chop ice. And it doesn't. The blender blades only reach the bottom portion so you just get a slush on the bottom of the cup.

I'm on vacation right now; but I believe the GE Rocket came with a total of 4 cups. 3 are full size drinking cups and 1 was smaller for grinding dry goods such as coffee. Very well designed in that the cups have drink bands you can screw on to make a nice lip and to go lids that are non spill.

I am the one who posted this question. My husband was able to twist really hard and fast and get it unstuck. I think the key is not to wash it in the dishwasher to begin with and make sure to twist the blade portion really tight to prevent any liquid from seeping out which causes the vacuum. I have not had any issues with it since I took these measures.

It took two people to get it apart. But, I think because I put to much fruit in it maybe what the problem was. And after getting it apart the plastic piece that is inside the top was just in pieces, unfortunately, the remaining parts are in storage or I would have taken it back.

GE definatly did not focus on making this blender quiet. My baby sleeps a couple rooms away and I did not want to use it at night for fear of waking him up. I have just been blending frozen fruits, but it sounds like you are blending a bunch of ice cubes in any other blender.

Question

How does this grind coffee?

I am wondering if anyone has used this to grind coffee beans...I went to buy a coffee grinder today and came across this 17 piece mini rocket blender set. I know I would use the blender smoothie part but was wondering if i could replace buying a coffee grinder with this unit. Can you make fine versus coarse coffee or am I better off with an actual coffee grinder? Let me know what you have tried.... thanks.

Yes, it comes with a grinding blade for coffee, spices, nuts,. You wont need separate coffee grinder and it works in fractions of the time a coffee grinder or spice mill. 350 watts. Its powerful.

answer 2
Yes, just use the chopping attachment instead of the blending one. It works just as good as a grinder. The more coarse you want it the less you grind. And if you want it finer, keep the rocket on longer.

Definately invest in a coffee grinder. This grinder is great for blended drinks but not so much anything else. Although the chopping blade is OK, being in the coffee industry myself, I give it a thumbs down on even grind control with coffee.
