THE INSTRUCTION GUIDE SAYS THAT THE BATTERIES CANNOT BE REPLACED. NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS

answer 2
The batteries can be changed out, with some effort.
What you need are 4 butter knives and a phillips screw driver.

1. Remove the play tray from the waker.
2. Use each of the butter knives to wedge in the steering wheel mount. This will allow you to pull the steering wheel from the play surface. Be careful not to pry too much or the plastic retainer tabs will break off.
3. Remove the 3 phillips screws in the lower surface and seperate the two covers.
4. Inside of the steering wheel there is a circut board located in the lower portion. This is held in place with two additional phillips screws. Remove the screws and lift the board out.
5. On the bottom of the circut board there are 4 batteries. The batteries are held in place by metal tabs.
6. Bend 1 tab out for each of the 4 bateries. Slide out the old batteries and replace with new.
7. Replace the parts by following the steps in reverse order. The butter knives will not be needed for re-mounting the wheel to the play table.

Batteries are Energizer 357 and available at many stores.

It says on the box the walker comes in that the batteries are irreplaceable. Meaning that you can not buy replacement batteries for the unit.
Since you just purchased the walker perhaps you will be able to return it for this reason.

yes, this walker's lowest height it's also too high, my 7 month-old daughter still can't reach the floor even on the lowest lock. So my husband came up with an idea: he placed a double diaper into the locker to get the height we need and then unlocked it. The diaper basically works as the locker. It works well.

When the walker is at its lowest position, there is 9" from the ground to the bottom of the seat without a child sitting in it. Maybe when a child is in it, it might go down a little further. My granddaughter is 25" long, and she needs about 2" more inches until she will be able to touch the ground.
