Unfortunately, Straight Talk does not allow minutes to roll over to the next month. This is why the use the terminology "30 day plan". I use the unlimited plan for my personal phone and my wife uses the $30 plan for 1000 minutes, 1000 texts, and 30mb of data usage. I researched for several months prior to making a purchase with Straight Talk and they were the obvious best value on the market when comparing prices and services.

answer 5
No, you start over each month. I've never had an issue with not having enough minutes.

I did the math and as long as you can last 20 days or more, it is cheaper to do the $30/month plan. If you think you'll talk more than 1000 minutes in less than 20 days, then go for the unlimited.

The services start on the day you start using the card. So if you load it to your account on Jan 1, then to your phone on your service date Jan 10, the minutes/texts services run from Jan 10 through Feb 10.

answer 7
Plans expire 30 days (not monthly) from the day you activate the plan.

And if you take it a little further you find those who manually activate to continue the plan lose some time, unless you stay up till midnite and renew as your plan expires. Over time, manual activations will cost you more.

There are two ways to get the full 30 days. Either use a credit card to allow automated billing or purchase plan in advance, putting them in "RESERVE" status.

Yes. The ST phone comes with instruction on how to port your number from a provider to ST. I've had the same number since 1997. I was talking within 15 minutes of porting. Some say it takes a long while to port, like a week. This is not ST's issue, it's the provider not releasing the number.

No, there is no fee.

You may port your current cell phone number after your current account is verified by straight talk.

Note: It may take a few minutes to two days to activate your ported number with the new phone. Be sure to activate your straight talk phone when you still have active service days with your current carrier.

I don't think so. This is from their website. I have heard that it can take up to a couple of days to get your number ported.

Can I transfer my current phone number to a Straight Talk phone?

Yes, you may transfer your telephone number from another company to Straight Talk. To port in your existing telephone number to your Straight Talk phone, the number you are porting must be active with your current service provider.

You need to request Straight Talk to port in your number, Straight Talk will process your request in your behalf. In order to request the transfer and initiate the activation process please go to www.straighttalk.com/Activate,and select the radio button option "Activate my phone with a number transferred from another company."

The transferring of your number to a new Straight Talk might take a few hours; however, if there are any delays from your current wireless carrier, the transfer process could take up to 7 days and in the case of landline numbers, transfers may take up to 30 days.

Your new Straight Talk will be ready to complete activation when your old phone stops working.

You can choose to have the monthly plan charged to a credit card automatically, meaning you don't have to purchase a card and punch in a pin. Unlike other prepaid phones, ST phones don't list the number of minutes you have remaining (like phones from other carriers)

answer 5
No monthly fees but you do have to purchase the plan every 30 days (not monthly) to keep your phone active and to keep your telephone #.

You can buy a new pin and load it monthly but this is a manual process and over time you'll short yourself by doing it this way. If you don't wish to use a credit card for auto-refill there's another option called 'RESERVE'.

Straight Talk offers 'Reserve' plans. That means you can buy as many service cards as you like and load them to your Reserve account. Each time your phone is to renew it will tap the reserve. One word of caution, I upgraded my phone and they lost the one reserve time I had purchased and they never replaced it. I was pretty upset about it, now I know I will only load one month at a time in case there's any chance I'll switch phones or lose my phone. That's really important to consider with prepaid. I still like this Reserve option way better than giving a credit card or buying the 3mos, 6mos, etc.

Hope I helped clarify but post another question if you need more answers. Good luck!

For more about 'Reserve', here's the website info:
