You can port your number, but you can easily lose it again if you don't refill your straighttalk phone before it expires.

There is an option to transfer a number when you are activating your phone. It might take a little longer. Also the previous account has to be up-to-date, so I have been told.

Yes, the card will expire at the end of the month and you will lose any minutes you still have. Even if you buy a new card the minutes do not roll over.

It doesn't expire, exactly. If you still have text messages left, or you haven't used all of your web megabytes, then the card is still active. The only way to get minutes back is to add a card to your account and activate it immediately. You will lose any text messages and web access, since they do not roll over into the next month.

I use NET10, a straight talk sister company, and they all work the same. For a straight talk SIM go to http://www.straighttalksim.com/shop.php and buy a $15 SIM for your Iphone, I've used NET10 with an Iphone 3GS and it works fine. Now I'm using an unlocked AT&T Galaxy 2 Skyrocket and it works fine too. Iphone 3GS takes standard SIM, Iphone 4G takes micro SIM. Both are available from these prepaid carriers. There's nothing to investigate these carriers accept both locked and ulocked GSM phones. AT&T and Tmobile are both GSM carriers so their phones will work even if carrier locked.
Good luck

Lisa, you'd better investigate this further because I think what you're trying to do will only work with the 4g phones. I know it is only like 15$ for the sim card alone from ST.

straighttalk.com is where it is located. I have been in that area but it may not support your phone. The have two SIM cards for phone. They give you a diagram and you match it up with the slot in your phone to see if it will fit. Like I say it is there you just have to work around the departments to find it.

Yes, that's what I did. The Straight Talk website made it easy for me to switch from AT&T and keep my phone number. It only took a couple of minutes to transfer my number from AT&T to Straight Talk.

My understanding is:
• ST runs off of the “pre-paid” part of the towers
• Unlike a plan through AT&T or Verizon
• NOT the whole tower, so your service will be LIMITED.

Depends on what "letter" is in the model #...

► Remember ◄
“c” = Verizon towers
“g” = AT&T towers

Depending on where you live, you can buy a StraightTalk phone that uses Verizon towers, Sprint, or AT&T. I have the Android Samsung Galaxy Proclaim that runs off Verizon, because I basically live in the middle of nowhere. No matter where I go, my phone always works. Sprint and AT&T will not work where I live or in most rural areas.

You can choose from AT&T and T-mobile. Bear in mind the T-mobile's 3G is only available to some phones, especially not iPhone. The price and service are quite much the same.

Yes, iPhone works with Straight Talk. Visit their website StraightTalk.com, it's pretty comprehensive for finding out information. I just switched over to StraightTalk from Verizon and I now save $100/mo, I love it! If you're currently in a contract then you'll pay to break your contract. If not, then just cancel your current service when you switch over to Straight Talk!

If your iphone 5's contract is fulfilled and it is GSM (AT&T, T-Mobile or similar), you can order an iPhone simcard from www.walmart.com. The popular plan is $45 per month for everything, unlimited. This is a per line plan only. so for your family, you would just order more lines. There is no multi-line discount. There are lower cost plans like the $30 per month. Once it's limits are met, you have to renew for the next month. THere are no service overages.

Yes. You would purchase a sim card ($15.) from Straight Talk for your phone and a plan.Plans are $45. a month or $60. with International access. Both are unlimited use. As far as a family plan, you would have to contact them. They are very good at customer service and they know their stuff.

My initial answer on this subject was not posted as I may have said too much and linked an article of confirmation that perhaps Walmart didn't think was appropriate to publish.

Bottom line is that jjohns78 is correct. Straight Talk has just recently revised its Terms and Conditions to reflect a defined soft cap on data to be 2.5 GB per the 30-day period of subscription. Up to a few days ago, the definition of "unlimited" was nebulous and undefined. Exceeding the soft cap evidently will now result in throttling to 2G speeds until the next billing period starts. It appears that the "hard cap" threshold (when service can be suspended or terminated) continues to be undefined but still can be applied to an account that grossly exceeds the soft cap threshold on a continuous basis or if it is confirmed that an account is being used for purposes that are against the T&Cs such as sharing a data connection, tethering, etc.

And as others have pointed out, ST has now revised the terminology of their plan descriptions as "unlimited mobile web access" as opposed to "unlimited data."

I just read the terms and conditions and it seems that for this 'unlimited' plan you get 2.5 gigs of data per 30 day cycle, then it slows to edge speeds. This is really similar to most of the AT&T plans, except they charge you after you pass your data limit instead of reducing your bandwidth. Since I'm using Straight Talk to save money, it's OK by me.

I've never had an issue with it but on the website it says that data rates slow down after a certain level. I use my phone CONSTANTLY. I have siriusxm internet radio running almost all day while i'm at work and I do a lot of web surfing on it to. Never had an issue but I don't have an Iphone. The service you have is associated with plan you buy, I think it has anything to do with the phone you buy.
