Number one reason I bought this was that you can turn off the floor brush. It sucks so hard that you can see the dirt move towards vacuum. You can adjust the suction amount at any time. Absolute dream on hardwood. Plus the wheels are very smooth and don't leave black marks.

I'm the person who asked this question. I got the vac and it works great on hard floors. You can turn on and off the brush. However, i took it back because i got the navigator which is the same quality as the navigator lift away. Same exact power only difference is the swivel and the lift-away the canister and the navigator cost is less than the lift away.

The 351 vacuum is identical in every way to the 351. The ONLY difference is in the attachments. The 351 comes with a 8" crevice tool and the 351 comes with a 24" crevice tool. Both come with a turbo brush (great for pet hair) and a dust brush. Other tools are also available for these models at the manufacture's site at a much lower price than you'll find with any other brand.

The best attachment is the turbo pet brush. It even sounds like it is turbo. I have a long haired cat and I didn't clean for six months because I hurt my back. Well my blue couch was now white. I tried the brush and all the hair came up. I even tried some tape and there wasn't any hair left. They also have a normal dust brush and one crevace tool. Plus an extension. Tv model has two crevace tools which is no big deal. You can always buy more from the manufacturer.

I was told this model is different than the tv model and this is true. However they confused the pre and post motor filters. There are these lifetime pre foam filters you clean every three months. Then the post motor hepa filter. I verified this in the manual. I think you clean that one once a year. One big difference with hepa type vacuum is that this one is a sealed unit and the air actually goes through the filter. If you put a bright light next to it when u vacuum something dirty you won't see any dust come out. I have bad asthma and I checked.

Pretty sure this is the exact same one. I've looked around and Walmart has it the cheapest. From Shark you can only buy it with the steam mop which is why it's 199 (a deal if you want the steam mop I guess but if you just want the vacuum, get it from Walmart).

Does this vacuum suctions alot of carpet when its vacuuming?

My carpet is only couple of months old and when I used shark I noticed the cup was full of my maroon carpet. I had to empty it twice. It cleans very well but I just don't like to see my carpet hair in the cup because I don't want my carpet to become bald. Please let me know if anyone had noticed the same problem.

This is normal with any new carpet, and good that you know the vac. has good suction. The vac. isn't removing carpet, just the stray fibers left over from manufacturing that your old vac left behind. Your carpet won't become bald, but if you're really worried about it you can turn down the suction.

answer 3
that is normal, it is actually good that it is getting all that up. It won't hurt your carpet at all that is just the loose stuff on there. When we got new carpet it was driving me nuts bc my son would crawl on the floor and have carpet all over him, I could never get all the "loose" stuff up with my regular vacuum and it took months and months before I was finally able to get it all
answered 2 years, 5 months ago
By
smcquain
answer 4
All new carpeting has excess fibers that get suctioned up with vacuums. That's all the loose fibers from the making of the carpeting. Any fibers it is picking up is loose fibers and is NOT fibers being yanked up from the base of your carpeting. You should be glad that it is picking up the loose fibers - it means it is doing it's job and keeping that stuff out of the air. The amounts of the loose fiber it picks up will diminish with time. If you bought a super cheap carpet then that would be another mnatter because you get what you pay for when it comes to carpeting.
