answer 2
No - this is just the unit with 1 head and 3 covers and carpet glider. It does not come with the triangle head or any other attachments as people have posted. I just received mine and put it together. I purchased based on previous posts and am truly disappointed in the truthfulness of others. I have lots of angles and needed the triangle piece. NONE of the items listed come with the triangle head. The only difference I can see is the number of white cloth covers that come with it. It gives a website or 800 number for ordering the triangle mop head and covers.

Is it safe to use this product on laminent floors?

answer 1
Yes, it is safe to use this product on any floor that has been sealed, including laminate. The steam dries almost immediately.

If you have self-stick floor tiles, you may have a problem because the steam works its way into the tiny cracks between tiles and can cause the tiles or the floor underneath to warp.

Absolutely. You can use a regular mop on laminate, therefore, you can use a steam mop on any solid and sealed surface. I would definitely not use this on hardwood flooring, however, as water could penetrate and ruin the wood.

I lay mine down on its back and pour 2 of the enclosed containers in it. If you didnt get the container use a measuring cup. When its laying down you can see how full it's getting.I stop before it gets to the opening.

I have a container that came with my Shark and I use about one and a half(about 2 cups or 16 ounces) to fill the Shark. This amount of water fills it to the top of the fill tank.

How hot does the steam get?

How hot does the steam get that is released from the S3501? I want something with steam at least 120 degrees F for best sanitizing and kills 99% bacteria and germs. If this model does not does Shark have a model that does?

Didn't think it was that hot till I put my hand near it and had a minor burn, so I would say it is at least 120 deg. It does sanitize very well and has been proven in many tests

Hot enough to burn. I put my bare foot near the mop head as I leaned down and accidently pushed the handle down releasing steam. I scaled my big toe. Not to badly but bad enough it hurt for a few minutes. Be careful.

answer 4
Didn't measure the steam temp, but water converts to steam at 212 degrees, so it had to be at least that hot at release.

You just pump the handle, pumping the handle is just pushing it forward and pulling it back pretty much.

answer 3
Simple - when you plug it in steam comes out. Also when you push back and forth the handle acts like a pump to keep it steaming. It works fine as long as your not in a big hurry.

It generates and releases the steam automatically. To stop the steaming process, elevate the mop head above the water resevoir - or unplug the unit.

It's not hot enough to peel a tile floor. In order for that to happen you need to have it really hot. The steam jets are actuated by the pumps you put on it. It doesn't stay in a constant state forced steam.

You probably already received an answer but: the shark didn't damage my grout, so yes it can be used on grout/tile floors. Just do some research before you buy, I found after my shark quit working (just shy of 12 months), that the shark steam mops require you to hold it in the same spot for 20 sec. or longer to "sanitize".

I have to clean out the holes where the steam comes out periodly, when it stops steaming. I use a long, narrow width, flexible wire. Remove the swivel head. Push wire all the way through swivel head until it passes all steam holes. Put wire in main opening as well. Mineral and calcium deposits cause clogged steam holes. Helps to use distilled water, it doesn't happen as often. (You can google more information on how to do this.)

You pump the handle and steam comes out. To get the pressure out when you are all through, you unplug the mop and press handle down the steam hisses until empty. I empty the water out of my machine over the sink and put my lid and water picture together in my cleaning closet for storage. (This keeps old water from growing anything in your machine with water sitting stagnate in it until your next use.) A little maintenance goes a long way! I have had mine for almost 3 years. I love it. I have had to tighten the mop handle twice too. Other than those regular maintenance items it is absolutely WORRY FREE! I'm a customer for life!
