It has buttons to easily set your time zone and whether you want it to follow Daylight Savings Time. You can activate the alarm each night with one button touch. Change the alarm by pushing more buttons. Not hard to do. I'm picky, but have no complaints about the ease of use.
The "atomic clock" receiver works well here in Massachusetts (the transmitter is in Colorado). Nobody will have more accurate time, if you use one of these.
I've had two, for a total of about 7 years. I can't remember replacing a battery, but I'm sure I have. They work great and I'd recommend them highly. They will last you for years.
