I finally purchased this unit, and let me tell you...........it was WELL WORTH IT!

My main concern was the size of the Mouse. And my fears were it would be a Mini Mouse. Thankfully it wasn't!! It is, like everyone who answered said, a Medium size Mouse. (Thanks for the replies!) The Size is Great.

The keyboard was also great. ESPECIALLY for the Price!! You can't beat this deal!!

Yes, this mouse and keyboard do work with a Windows desktop. My desktop system is about as old as yours and has been updated several times. The wired keyboard and mouse no longer stayed properly connected to the computer so I had to try something wireless that could be used on an older system. I can now type and click without problems.

I have a Gateway GT5628, which is a good 4 or 5 years old. The operating system has been updated to windows 7, as well as a new hard drive, fan and optical drive. Both of these products worked out of the box for me (after putting batteries in and plugging the usb stick into the back of the PC) and I haven't had any issues with them so far. I have owned these for a little over a week.
