Hope this helps.
I'm on my second Gazelle.
I love this trainer, however the squeeking is a problem. I tried everything. Here's what I did.
Use vasoline on EVERY penetration, moving part, ect... The bolts going through the frame... grease those.
Grease everything.
Also what I did that helped significantly is...
I reamed out the swivel arms on the bottom foot pads.(Black teardrop plastic things).
The squeeking generates from the plastic teardrop swingarms rubbing on the welds from the posts.
After I reamed out these parts, it didn't rub on welds, which eliminated the noise.
Maintenance is a priority with owning this thing. I now have another squeek coming from frame cables. I just tweek with it when it makes noise. I've come to the conclusion that it will always make some kind of noise. But for the price, you can't beat it. Good Luck. Peace.

I just yank on the plastic in different directions and it subsides... for one use anyway. It seems to be the plastic protective cover scratching along the rim, in my case.

In the box, I believe the container is about 3 to 4 feet long. I threw away the box already, but it fit easily in my car, a Ford Focus, when I brought it home. Assembled, the Gazelle will not fit through the average doorway because of the bolt fittings. But it easily folds and can be turned sideways to fit through doors that way, and can be moved easily from room to room. It weighs approximately 50 pounds assembled.

Question

burn Calories ??

I just bought this machine and like it so far. However, there is something I do not think it is normal, which is that the calories meter is moving so fast. So for example, I walk or jog at a speed 4.0-4.5 m/sec for around 15 min and found that I burned around 750 calories. I think that is impossible?

I think my gazelle has a problem maybe?
Please advice?

regards
Hesham

I agree the timer shows way too many calories burned. But I suppose if we were truly running on pavement and getting the resistance it would be accurate. Everyone I know that has one of these machines felt the same.

answer 2
compare the calories burned to the miles on your gazelle to the calories burned for the same distance on a fitness site. that should let you know if it is whacko. Here is one that relates calories to your weight and walking a mile. A rule of thumb is 100 calories per mile for a 180-pound person and 65 for a 120-pound person. I have no idea if the gazelle takes weight into account, I doubt it. I would say your gauge is off.

The handles may stick up too far to fit under some beds. I had to elevate my bed with special bed elvators that are shaped like inverted flower pots.

It does...but is not worth it to me. I just leave it up all the time and it reminds me to exerice each day. It is a little heavy to be folding up and sliding under your bed each time you are done with it. If you are concerned about it taking up space than I would just fold it up and lean it against a wall or put it in a closet....much easier.
