I have mine hooked up with a USB cable and not connected to the internet. The cable does not come with the printer though so you'll have to purchase seperately or use one from another printer.

You have to go through the steps on the printer to connect it to your wireless network. After you do this your computer should be able to detect the printer for installing. If that does not work I would recommend getting a different printer because I have had problems keeping mine connected to the network. I have to re-program it about once a month.

Hi,
The only reason to wire it would be if you have a desktop that does not have wireless capability. As long as your computer has a wireless card in it you should have no problem.

It uses HP 564 ink cartridges. You have seperate ones for cyan, yellow, and magenta. Then you need a black cartridge and photo ink if you are printing pictures. They come in regular or XL.

No, you have to use either your regular phone line, or if your area has the availability to, you can get a dedicated number just for faxing. Some providers offer this at a lower cost than adding a second phone line

You use your home phone number. Just make sure to turn it on when you are expecting a fax, the only problem is that when you receive a regular phone call, the fax machine picks up if you don't get to the phone within 2 or 3 rings.

You should have no problem with a hardwire to your desktop PC and printing wirelessly from your laptop. I have my Kodak printer set up this way and it works great. You will need to know your network (router) password and ket this into the printer keyboard in the woreless set-up menu.

ANY 110-ac powered appliance that uses a DC charger or AC-to-DC adapter might have a defective adapter because most chargers & adapters are subcontracted from countries where quality control increases production cost, they use quality control as part of contract negotiations to coerce more $$. To minimize cost, you decline quality control. Thus, AC chargers and adapters might overheat and produce higher DC voltage when you keep it plugged in 24-7-365. When not using appliance, unplug the AC-to-DC adapter, or you're liable to damage the appliance. An overheating charger is indicative of too much voltage; it's kicking out a higher DC voltage than what the appliance is rated for.
