Question

Can I go online when my computer is a Mac?

I've heard this TV is not Mac-compatible, but I do have a Wi-Fi router. If I buy the Wi-Fi adapter, will the TV be able to go online & download apps & movies without connecting to a PC?

And will Samsungs be Mac-compatible in the future?

Although I cannot speak on the panel's manufacturer, I can give you some info on the differences between the D5550 and the D6000.

1. Dynamic Contrast Ratio: D5550- 3,200,000:1, D6000- 5,000,000:1

2. WiFi- The D6000 is WiFi ready (does not have built in WiFi, WiFi with Linkstick -Sold Separately-), while the D5550 will not offer WiFi connectivity at all

3. Panel Refresh Rate: The D5550 is a 60Hz unit, while the D6000 is a 120Hz unit

does this tv have a game mode and if not how does it look for gaming

As a matter of fact, the D6000 will offer Game Mode. Game Mode bypasses some of the TVs processors to give you an almost direct feed from your game system. This will help in the time it takes the signal to travel from the game system to the panel, effectively reducing the time between when you press your action button to when you see the action displayed on the screen, making for more accurate responses.
If you head to your TV's menu (by pressing the "Menu" button on your remote control), then scroll down and select the Setup/System sub-menu, you will see the “General” option. Within this option, you will find the Game Mode option. If Game Mode is grayed out, this means you do not have your device connected to an input that supports game mode.

In order to access Captioning, you will want to head into the TV's menu, then into the setup or system sub-menu to access the CC options or to just activate it, press the CC button on the remote control. However, CC is only available via the coax cable since the CC signal has to be sent by your service provider. The CC information cannot be sent via HDMI or other secondary connections from 3rd party devices. That said, most service provider set top boxes and DVD/BD players will handle CC on board, which will then be displayed on the TV as part of the video signal. Captions are subject to your service provider’s availability.

All UN, PN and LN units (North American Units) will only have support for NTSC/ATSC/QAM broadcasting systems and NA power systems. Since the NA TVs will not accept a PAL signal or Non-NA voltages, you will not only need a converter for the broadcast, but also for the power if you would like to use the TV in a PAL country. Unfortunately, I will not be able to recommend a specific converter since Samsung cannot offer support for products we do not manufacture.
