With the Sony ICDBX112 Digital Voice Recorder, recording notes is now a breeze. This flash voice recorder has a Voice Operated Recording feature, which automatically starts and stop recording depending on the sound level. This unique feature saves recording time by not recording periods when there is no or little sound. You can store up to 500 hours of maximum recording time with this 2GB digital voice recorder. Use the A-B repeat feature in this recorder to mark the beginning and ending of a particular passage that you want to listen again and again. Four recording modes allow you to capture voices in different frequencies. You can also set the microphone sensitivity depending on where you are using it. Another interesting feature of this Sony digital voice recorder is the alarm that you can set at a future date for automatic recording. Loaded with so many features, this voice recorder proves very useful while preparing for lectures and conferences.

This recorder makes MP3 files. Any software you have that can use MP3 files (like iTunes) can play the file.

The ICD-BX112 does not have USB connectivity so the only way to transfer recordings to and from the unit to a computer or other device would be using the headphone and/or microphone jack.

Yes, the playback of the Voice files in the Sony ICD-BX112 Digital Voice Recorder can be paused. The Pause button is the same as the Recording button located towards the right of the Play button.

Yes, this IC recorder can be used for recording telephone conversations. You can use the ECMTL1 earphone-style electrets condenser microphone (not supplied) to record the sound from a telephone or a cell phone.

No. There is no built in timer that would allow you to record.

When you set the time and date on the recorder this is for timestamping the recordings and setting the alarm - it does not have a timer record facility.

can i buy headphones for this recorder? I use it to record cd's instead of an ipod. i plugged in some earphones i have at home and it only played like it normally does. Help!! Any advice will be appreciated!

Yes you can use headphones, I recorded music and use the headphones to listen to them. Also the same headphones you use in an airplane work fine with the recorder.
