Question

How does the "adaptive" feature work for a snoring partner block?

Does the "adaptive" feature bring up the volume (to drown it out) when your partner starts their snoring, in the middle of the night?

This unit hardly blocks the noise of loud voices from the street in a big city. It definitely would have no effect as far as cancelling noise being made by the person laying next to you in the same room.
answered 9 months ago
By

answer 2
YES, THE ADAPTIVE FEATURE RAMPS UP THE VOLUME WHEN IT "HEARS" A LOUD NOISE AND WILL CONTINUE TO BLOCK IT FOR AS LONG AS THE NOISE/SNORE CONTINUES.
answered 11 months ago

answer 3
We have many customers using it for relief from a snoring partner. The machine responds quite well to the sound of snoring. However, if you or a loved one snores you should really consult your physician and be tested for sleep apnea.

answer 8
It does have a really sensitive background noise finder. I don't use it but have played with it and if you start talking or clap or something it will make the volume of the machine louder until you stop making sound.

answer 9
I can't give you an answer you may be looking for to this question. I do know that if you are close to the unit and make a noise the volume will rise. However we have the unit approximately six foot away from the bed and it does not cover up the snoring of my partner.
answered 2 years, 4 months ago
By
McBear
 - High Point, NC
answer 10
This is just my opinion.
The adaptive feature does work; but,
in this case, you would have to hear the
snore which may be loud enough to raise
the volume; but, the volume will go back
to normal and the next snore will raise the
volume again; but, you've heard the
snoring again and maybe every time.
So, I wouldn't count on it to block snoring.

THE MACHINE HAS A 30, 60, 90 AND 120 MINUTE TIMER. OR IT WILL RUN ALL NIGHT WITHOUT SETTING THE TIMER. IF YOU CHOOSE TO SET THE TIMER THERE ARE SMALL DISPLAY LIGHTS THAT MAKE IT EASY TO RESET THE MACHINE.

The machine was designed with a tactile panel - real buttons you can feel with your fingers - and a round dial in the middle - so it is quite easy to turn on/off in the dark - just press the upper left button (POWER BUTTON).

Question

Does this machine pick up interference from CB radios or cell phone activity?

answer 2
Who knows what the crackling I have experienced is caused by. It had not occurred to me until reading your review that it could be caused by interference. I think in my case though, it really is a defective unit and the noise presents itself at the same point in the tracks every time they are played. If you don't like the obnoxious sound of interference, you probably won't like this product.

Yes, it has an earphone jack on the right side of the machine, near the front. And I think they sell "pillow speakers" or something like that, that could be used with the machine as well. I am able to hear the machine on my side of the bed, but the volume is low enough that my husband can't hear it on his side of the bed.
