I would not recommend that at all since the top of the chairs are a thin padded vinal. The table might be ok but would probably rust. The two tables I got weren't exactly level across the top so water might pool on it as well.

I understand why you are stymied. It took me a bit of analysis, but it's easy.
Just push the diagonal lock-bar on each leg IN toward the center of the table and collapse the leg.

They really should have included instructions!

That's the safety feature kicking in =) You need to push the slotted piece in near the top of each leg to the 'pin' gets pushed out a bit - then you can fold the legs. They do that so the table won't collapse on you.

The table is pretty sturdy for a card table and I continuously threw tools and other things on it while I was moving and it didn't move or buckle. As for the chairs I found them to be a little on the small size for an adult but they would be great for children. They're also sturdy for those little ones that can't sit still.

It's actually very stable. Look, most funiture wable because of uneven surfaces. That's why most GOOD furniture come with some way to adjust the feet. At a $50 purchase you are not going to get that. That being said, I have used my set for many-a-party/picnics. It holds up well but it is a VERY light table. If you have crazy kids running around or some behemoth runs into it, there is a good chance its going down.

The most weight we have used on it is about 185 lbs. The table is pretty sturdy, but I'd be wary about overloading it until you try it out for awhile.

The table is just a tad shorter than a normal 'dining' table. It is large enough that 3-4 adults could seat and eat a meal at it (although that would be dinner plates and glasses only). I am 5' 8" and when sitting in a chair at the table the table comes mid line to me and I do not feel I have to 'stoop' over to work or eat from it.
