Yes, the handles are built into the upper portion of the can, on the wheel side. The lids also have handles built into them and a kind of latch on either side, so when they are on and you are rolling the unit to the curb, you are holding the lid on, too.

NO. We used heavy-duty zip ties to attach the lid so the trash guys wouldn't lose it for us.

No. The lid is a separate piece.

The lid is a separate piece that latches with a press-lock kind of fit on either side. You lift on either side via a place for your hand and it unlatches when the lid flexes. I have two of these going on 6 years old and the lids stay on very well when latched, even with critters and high winds. I do keep them in my unheated garage till I take them out to the street.

No. Not attached. If you have a pesky raccoon, you might need to augment the latching system too.

The lid on this industrial strength refuse container is a snap-fit lid. The lid is not attached to the base but can be snapped on or off as needed.

I'd estimate 2-3, depending on contents; if it's something that packs well like grass clippings, 3; if it's something like cardboard or sticks, 2.

four to five 13 gal bags

answer 3
Approx. 3 to 4. Depends on how compressable the contents of the bags are. The lids also latch at either side handle, so you can press down on them to compress the bags inside a bit.

The new model uses a blown plastic as opposed to a combination of solid rubber and plastic which was far superior. The weakness in this new design is the cheap blown wheels.

Question

Do 55-gallon trash liners fit easily into this can?

With a couple other cans I have bought that were less than 55 gallons, the liners did not fit easily because the top of the can was too large.

Whether or not the 55 gal bags fit the 2851 can largely depends on the dimensions of the bag and the dimensions of the can. Generally, the 55 gal bags should fit, but yes, the fit can be snug.
