on Asus Internal DVD Rewritable SATA Optical Drive, Black
This is not designed to be used with a Laptop. The Laptop does not have a power connection. You can buy a SATA/USB cable along with an adapter to change your internal 5-prong accessory plug into a SATA power plug. This will allow you to install the drive into an older PC that is not set up with SATA connectors. These cable are available at CYBERGUYS.COM
This unit says it is a SATA drive. Sata drives cannot be used on a laptop 99.9% of the time. It is also an internal drive, which means it is intended to mount inside a regular desktop computer with screws. It needs a SATA data cable as well as a SATA power cable, neither of which are provided by 99.9% of laptops. For a laptop (or desktop too) please purchase an USB external DVD drive, such as the Buffalo external drive for $33. Have FUN!

Sata 2 cable

In general, a "mini USB cable" should work for most models. The cable comes standard with the unit if purchased at a retail vendor. Thanks for your question.
