You can buy "Tar" for the mainspring to quiet it down some, but the best thing is the nitro piston they offer. The cheapest nitro gun is ~$150 and worth it imo, otherwise you need to send your gun in and pay $100 to have one installed (they won't let you do it yourself).
The noise level is amazing! Day and night difference, and they're silky smooth in comparison. I went with the Benjamin Titan for on sale for $130, best thing for the money I think I've ever spent, no joke. If it was twice that I'd still buy it.
The crozman nitro venom and Benji titan are the same except for the stock, and the Benji stock is way better (imo). It's also easier to hold while kocking it

Somewhat loud. An occasional shot every couple of days won't be of concern but a shooting session in your backyard will have the cops at your house faster than you can say "breach of peace".

I would have to say yes, it is loud. I also have close neighbors and I do not shoot this gun in the backyard for that reason. It looks and sounds more like a 22 rifle than a pellet gun. It is especially loud when new, and will quiet down a bit after you've fired a few dozen rounds.

It definitely is loud with light-weight pellets. I have intentionally been using heavy weight pellets (10.5 gr Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum) to avoid the excess noise.

Not sure but I measured mine and initial effort after the detent is 3lbs. At 1/2 way thru travel it's 9lbs. With the barrel at 90 degrees to the body it's 16lbs. And the peak pressure just before latching is 21lbs. Not bad at all and you'll probably not find another gun that's easier without going down to a power level that he's not going to be happy about.

My son is 14, stands 5'5", and "solid built"...he has NO problem with it. It is much firmer to pump than I expected it to be, but if you put the butt of the gun on your thigh, it makes it much easier to pump.

It is rifled. All the spring guns like this are rifled. The only smooth barreled guns you're likely to find are BB or pellet/BB guns like CO2 pistols, Daisy Red Ryder, and some pump guns.

I guess they differ with different batches judging from the replies. Mine had plastic sights front and back. The trigger is metal but looks like plastic. The trigger guard is plastic and some plastic ones look like metal. The cap on the rear end is a plastic cover over metal.

Yes, and if you look at the picture closely you can see it comes with a scope stop too.
It's the 11mm like most all airguns and .22 rimfires.
The best deal is to buy one that comes with a scope.
The G1 Extreme is the same gun but with a scope only, no plain sights and it looks good like that.

answer 8
It doesn't come with the hardware or the holes for a sling, very few do. You can add them if you can find the kit, or you can use a regular hardware kit and screw the fore screw to one side because the center is hollow.
Only use a sling on a piston airgun for carrying, if you use it wrapped around your elbow for support your accuracy will suffer greatly. You have to hold the gun very loosely and the same way each time for the pellet to go in the same spot. The gun moves before the pellet exits so if the gun is held different then it will move different and so will the pellet.

Bushnell 4 x 32 Multi-X Rimfire Scope #762243 comes with rings and fits gun perfect. Cost $30.00 at Walmart, also shoot the Gamo PBA Raptor Power Pellets for added velocity.

People mount scopes on break action pellet guns and they seem happy. However, I haven't had much luck with scopes on break action pellet guns. Cocking the gun knocks the scope off sight far to often for me.

UTG Leapers 3-9x32ao is great and can be had for $49 many online places. Get 1 piece mount too (like $8).

If you get a 3-9x40ao scope, the 40mm dimension will most likely be too big to fit on the gun and your dust caps won't open.

Might work okay. You also might wanna look into buying a pellet rifle scope. If I were you I would look on AirgunDepot.com they have some good stuff for airguns.
