Question

Is stylus required?

Hello,

Does the child HAVE to use the stylus, or can they touch the screen with their fingers as a way to play the games?

He or she can use their finger for some of the games, but for some things like the letter tracing and pinpointing objects, you kind of need the stylus for those types of activities. Also, the touchpad is more responsive to the stylus than to a fingertip.

Question

Battery Life

Just wondering how is the battery life on the leappad. Do they last a while or run out very fast where its best to have it plugged in if using. I'm looking for something my little girl can play when we go to hockey games so it has to run off batteries. she has a vtect vsmile pocket which works great off the batteries so looking to upgrade but don't want a battery monster. Thank you

an energizer battery would take my son 2-3 days to finish it, it's when he's been playing with it for 3 consecutive days nonstop a day. 5-6 days if he would just play it when he remembers it and hes been busy playing with some other toys.

The LeapPad runs on 4 AA batteries. My son has had his for about a month or so now and I think the battery life has been very good. He plays a lot and I we don't have to replace them too much. I can't give an amount of time they last but the LeapFrog site says 8 hours. I would guess its close to that.

walmart. com has a bundle for $129 including: LeapPad, AC adapter(that works with ALL leapfrog systems), and a carrying case. Or you can buy just the charger for $9.98. Just type Leapforg AC Adapter into search and it will appear.

You can buy rechargable batteries and use them with it, which is highly recommended! You can also purchase an adapter to plug into an outlet so you won't need any batteries. But neither of these items comes in the box with the tablet.

Just playing around with my daughters, it looks like it will hold 3 separate profiles and 1 guest profile. Allowing 3 different children to use it and store information separately, but I can't say how much information (pictures, video, etc.) they would each be able to save since they would all be limited to sharing the 2G.
