No, I would not classify this as a confetti shredder. The pieces are still fairly wide and long. Maybe a 1/5"x1 3/4". I think the website states 7/32"x 1 27/32". They call it a crosscut shredder but is larger pieces than other models.

I use Fellowes Performance Oil because I had that left over with my last shredder (that a friend gave me). The pamphlet that comes with THIS shredder says to only use non-aerosol vegetable based oils. I guess that means some EVOO would be just fine!

One needs to run reverse at least once every three uses forward.

The problem is that one needs to clear paper jam - it does take a little bit to make sure YOU pick all paper from the cutters.

IT is a LIGHT-weight use machine, and sometimes you need to allow the machine to work at its pace - not YOURS...

This situation has happened to me. ;)

I am new to this product ,but i would guess any brand of dry silicone spray would do the trick. I use this spray at my work and it is verry usefull, with all things that has a tendancy to stick. And it is not greasy so it won't clog the works. I also used it on my last shredder and it worked just fine. I changed to this shredder beacuse of the cross cutting for the security.

1) Opening on top of unit has a tilt to open feature to keep wandering
small fingers away from the steel teeth grinders. The best safety is to
move the slide switch from the "auto" position to the "off" position
when not in use.

2) This is a light duty shredder and using it to shred cardboard or
Kleenex boxes will only shorten its life. Why would anyone want to
shred cardboard or cartons in the first place? These items are
normally recycled at trash pick-up or the trash recycling center.
answered 1 year, 2 months ago

CostConsciousLady
answer 5
1. Shred Safe is that the machine will not operate unless it is correctly situated upon its specially designed 3.7 gal. basket.

2. It will shred the light cardboard of a Kleenex box but not cardboard.

Per the manual, anything thicker than 6 sheets of 20lb bond paper will strain the machine & can cause permanent damage to the shredder blades & components.

I would guess so if it is no thicker than 6 pieces of paper work be. Safe shred is the way it is configured to shut down if the lid is not properly on the base or if the unit becomes overheated. It will go back on after it cools down and/or when you put the base on properly. I like the safety features. It heats up fairly quickly (after 3/4 full when doing a lot of shredding) no problem, it meets my needs.

Shredding is generally for security so there is not much need to shred kleenex boxes or pizza boxes.
answered 2 years, 2 months ago

applepie11
answer 11
Shred Safe probably refers to being careful and not lose a finger in the cutter. Or it may refer to safety features it has. This is a very light machine and I would not try anything as thick as a Kleenex box and certainly not a pizza box.
