We suggest that garden soil be mixed with the native soil before planting.

To answer your question, no, you do not need to mix this with soil and it can be used by itself. It works great in raised beds and also in-ground gardens all by itself. I have had excellent results using it this way. When I replant, I just add some compost or manure to replenish the nutrients.

I'm from Alabama, and the dirt here in the south is poor and full of ugly unusable red clay. I don't have all the money in the world to use nothing but the miracle-gro, so unless my seeds need the up-most fertilization or softer ground, I mix about 50/50 miracle grow and my own dirt. If you're asking about starting the seeds in trays, it would probably be a good idea to use the plain miracle grow so its easy for the roots to begin. Hope this helps!

This soil is for outdoor in-ground use. It is too dense of a mixture to be used for containers. We suggest using Miracle-Gro Potting Mix if you plan on growing tomatoes in a container.

This soil is great to mix with your native soil when planting all plants in the ground. If you soild pH is not within the range required for a particular plant, then we suggest amending the soil with an appropriate supplement. The pH level of a bagged soil is quickly adjusted to the pH level of the native soil after mixing.

I dont think it would hurt. Acid typically only depicts what color the blossoms will be. You can buy and add acid to the mix if needed.

I'm sorry as we do not set the final retail prices, these are set by the individual retailers. You may wish to check your local store for any sales or promotions offered on Miracle-Gro products. Retailer fliers and Sunday edition of the newspaper are good sources for coupons and sale information.

While you can mix this in with existing soil to plant grass seed we would suggest using a product that is better suited for the lawn like Scotts Turf Builder Lawn Soil.
