answer 4
Yes it does and it is one that you can just rinse out (and replace when necessary). It says you should do it every three months but I do it once a week. I also rinse the canister out evertime I use it. It picks up so much dirt (which is fantastic) and is so easy to rinse, I just keep the whole thing clean and it really is simple.

Yes it does and pre-filters are washable so the filter will last a long time. Instructions say to wash the HEPA filter out once every 2 years under normal use and the pre-filters every 2-3 months. Easy to remove and replace as well.

Yes it is bagless. It empties easily from the bottom. I take mine outside to empty because dust flies when you empty it in the trash. I've always owned bag vacuums but really like not having to change & purchase bags all the time. I'm very happy with my vacuum. You can see my review under Hude.

It does not have an off switch but, it also has a regular brush attachment as well that is not motorized and that would work for purposes that do not require a motor. The Morotized attachment works great on stairs, I do not have pets but it picked up everything left behind from the christmas tree after my kids drug it across the floor!

Yes it does and actually I was surprised because I hadn't read that it did. When I started using it is when I discovered it. Its kinda neat and easy to use expecially since the vacuum has so much suction (which you can adjust, thank goodness) that it can be difficult at times to manover (without adjusting the suction). The swivel action and capability of adjusting suction make it easy to operate and get around corners and furniture.

answer 11
As for model numbers, I was told by Shark that the NV355, NV356 and NV356E are all the same unit and have the same accessories. They said number indicates what store sells it....but that leads me to believe there may be a difference. Some of the NV355 have a slightly different pet power brush, the whole top comes off, whereas with the NV356/E the top of the brush only tilts off to clean. Last thing, althought accessories (such as the hard floor brush, wand extention and backsaver kit) are not listed on the Shark website for the Pro lift away, after much questioning of Shark representatives, I got mixed answers on if the regular (lavendar) lift away accessories are interchangable with the pro (white). Apparently some for the NV350 (lavendar) may be interchangable with the pros.

We have hardwood and tile floors and a few area rugs. We bought the Navigator Lift Away Pro and LOVE it. The "bare floor" setting works great for sucking up dirt, pet hair and debris that are floating on top of the hardwood. The microfiber pad and vacuum attachment work great to pick up any dust that you'd normally use a dry mop to pick up.

I have all hardwood with just a few area rugs and I own the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Pro, NV355. I find I have to release the suction for the rugs but that is very easy to do. There is a suction release right at the handle and all you do is turn it. If you have pets, or allergies, I would recommend it.

the liftaway also comes with a hardwood floor cleaner that attaches to the canister. you detach the canister from the main part of the vacuum and then attach the hardwood floors attachment. its great because it vacuums and picks up dust with a dust mop. its very similar to the swiffer sweeper vac only this dust mop is washable so you just use it over and over again.
