Throw in an HDMI cable (don't spend too much) and everything should be fine. Of course it depends what setup is being used... maybe two cables if they have a Blu ray and HD-DVR or cable box.

If they have an HDTV cable box, an HDMI Cable would be needed. A regular coaxial cable may be used as well, but the definition would be lost.

answer 6
The TV itself will work straight from the box. Any cables you use to connect to your old TV (except S-Video) will work for this model. Beware however, if more than one of your devices (dvd player, game console, etc.) use the same type of input (except HDMI), you might be in trouble. The JLC32BC3000 only has one component (RED/GREEN/BLUE video + RED/WHITE audio) and one composite (YELLOW video + RED/WHITE audio). A solution to this might be to get a different type of connection for one device, so you don't have duplicates (i.e. if your DVD player uses composite cables, but also has the option of component or HDMI output, upgrade to that).

If this is for someone else and they are getting cable or satelite tv the cable company or satelite company will provide all the cables and stuff to hook up to the tv. The great thing about the new tv's like this is you can connect a anntena to it and get several stations with out cable or satelite. I purchased a "Terk Passive HDTV/UHF/VHF Indoor Antenna" for my daughters as she does not have cable or satelite. Her DVD recorder as a up conversion to 1080i so she gets great picture quality on her DVD Movies.
However if they want to connect the cable or statelite boxes or a DVD player through the HDMI connection you will need to purchase the HDMI cables. It's better to not buy one that is way to long but just right. The shorter the cable the better the signal for picture quality.
This is a great TV. I am waiting for it to come into stock so I can buy another one for my grandson's room.

This TV has a coax cable input if you want to hook it up directly to a cable outlet...you will need an HDMI connector if you are hooking it up to a cable box or satellite box for best HD picture.

You will either need an HDMI cable or the Yellow Red White RCA cables to get this hooked up. If you have an HD source, the HDMI hook up is the way to go.

If you do not have an HD source you will just need a regular coax cable to screw into the back of the TV, but don't expect an HD experience.

While there is no true headphone output jack, adapters are available to convert the analog rca audio out to 3.5mm stereo. If you use 3.5mm headphone cords look for rca male to 3.5mm female splitter/adapter/cable. If your headphones are the larger traditional 1/4 inch type, you'll need another adapter for that too.

The answer to your question is probably no. There is no standard headphones jack. There is a standard left right pair of outputs that usually goes to speakers. There is also an optical audio out that usually goes to sound systems.

I don't have the time to test this, but HDMI for the most part, is an all or nothing sort of spec. With 3D being one exception. I'd pretty much garantee you that any non 3D HDMI device (including a PC or Laptop] will be able to connect to this TV.

Also, as I'm very familiar with PCs [being a PC tech with 15 years of experience), I'd also pretty much garantee that the other person did not have the SW, and/or settings correct on their PC. They could have tried an incopatable resolution and/or refresh rate, for example.

I will try this connection later, if I have time, and let you know if there are any issues...
