I don't have any HDMI equipment either. Just a regular DVD player and it works perfectly fine with the TV.

Nickip1221
answer 2
Yes you can. Your DVD player can use either Composite [yellow, red and white] connection or the set does have an S-Video connector.

However, a new DVD player with up-scaling to 1080P via a single HDMI cable is available for less than $40 online or at your local Walmart store.

I bought a new player because I really didn't like looking at the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.

answer 1
Yes. The TV has one set of AV/Video hookups and 3 HDMI cable hookups. If you have more than one component that needs the AV hookups, you'll need a splitter, switch, or have to constantly change the cords when you want to use a different component

Yes.

answer 3
It should unless you have some unusual DVD player.

The TV has HDMI, AVI [red, blue, green + red and white] and Composite [yellow, red and white] inputs.

Note: Have you considered buying a new DVD player that has 1080p up-scaling? They make connecting your DVD player a simple 1 cable connection. The other nice thing is that almost all of them will fill the entire screen instead of having black bars at the top and bottom of the picture on a HDTV.

I am receiving a cable signal, and the television tuner does tune to all the digital stations. You just need to let it do the search using its internal setup. It takes time, but don't shorten the process.

The manufacturers name from the side of the shipping package is:

Shenyabng Tongfang Multimedia Technology Co. Ltd., Shenyang, China.

To my knowledge "Element Electronics" is a web based business. They do not list any address on their web page which is elementelectronics[DOT]com

On their support page, entering the Model Number of this TV results in the following message.

"Sorry. That product number does not exist. Please try again.".

I did send them an email question about a week ago and as of 12/21/2011 they have not responded.

I'm sure parts, assembly, etc. vary from TV to TV. But I would guess most of the parts and assembly is outside of the US. It's kind of hard to answer the question, even if the marking says "Made in ..."

The address for the company is:
