Not all the features work with a Directv remote. I really cant stand having to use another remote...thats the point of having a universal remote. Good luck!

No. The tv is rather large to be swiveling, you'd have to turn the whole unit for proper support.

Yes you can. Your DVD player can use either Composite [yellow, red and white] connection or the set does have an S-Video connector.

However, a new DVD player with up-scaling to 1080P via a single HDMI cable is available for less than $40 online or at your local Walmart store.

I bought a new player because I really didn't like looking at the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen.

Yes. The TV has one set of AV/Video hookups and 3 HDMI cable hookups. If you have more than one component that needs the AV hookups, you'll need a splitter, switch, or have to constantly change the cords when you want to use a different component

It should unless you have some unusual DVD player.

The TV has HDMI, AVI [red, blue, green + red and white] and Composite [yellow, red and white] inputs.

Note: Have you considered buying a new DVD player that has 1080p up-scaling? They make connecting your DVD player a simple 1 cable connection. The other nice thing is that almost all of them will fill the entire screen instead of having black bars at the top and bottom of the picture on a HDTV.

Yes and yes. We wall mounted as soon as we received it...fairly simple. The base is semi connected to tv unit and you need to remove four screws to remove the base before hanging it. And we have Comcast wireless cable which looks great on tv. :-)

Yes it is wall mountable with a VESA wall mount on a 400 X 400 bolt pattern.

The TV does not have a built in 802.11 b/g/n chip and IS NOT capable of attaching to the internet by itself.

There are however many different devices like the Roku player, Boxee Box and Apple TV that allows you watch internet TV channels if that is what you are trying to do. I use my Roku player and have access to more than 100 HD internet based TV channels using my wireless connection.
