Does the adjustable handle make a difference for someone with back problems?
I have tried two other Haan mops that were each awkward to use for their own reasons. I currently own the Haan Total Sweep & Steam (model HD 60). It is incredibly awkward to use and often leaves me with back pain, so I want to switch to a different model.
I know the main issue with my current machine is the bulkiness of the sweeper in the front of the machine (not the length of the handle), but I'm wondering if on the Haan Select having that telescoping handle makes a difference for people with back problems? Or is it more a gimmick?

No...I too have back problems from failed back surgery. This Mop doesn't glide well, clean well, feel good in your hand or get hot enough. Barely even steams.
I have lower back problems as well. I don't use the extension handle and haven't had a problem with it tweeking my back. I have noticed though that when you first use it, it takes a few sweeps for the pad to get wet so it can be hard to push. Once it's wet I feel like it glides easier.
Overall, the unit is very light and easy to use.

I have both back problems and arthritis and I find the telescoping handle does make a difference for me.
