it is not one that has the lift off smaller steamer option, so it isn't impossible but a bit bulky to lift to clean shower walls and mirrors

I had my shark, which I used DAILY for a few years, but I will ONLY use distilled water in my steam mops. Can't speak for this one yet as I only have it a few weeks. Even if they say you can use tap water, stick with distilled. Even purified water has minerals in it and deposits will build up.

I think it varies. You don't want it to get too dirty or wet before you change the pad. I change mine 2 times for about 1500 sq ft of tile. Maybe 3 times.

If you mean how long do they last per mopping session - I can do my living & dining area with one fresh pad.

I change out when I go from the kitchen tile to the hardwood because I don't want to get any kind of food residue on the hardwood.

Since they can be washed, I'm guessing about a year. They're very durable. My neighbor has one and she's had the same pads for a very long time.

Question

Does the adjustable handle make a difference for someone with back problems?

I have tried two other Haan mops that were each awkward to use for their own reasons. I currently own the Haan Total Sweep & Steam (model HD 60). It is incredibly awkward to use and often leaves me with back pain, so I want to switch to a different model.

I know the main issue with my current machine is the bulkiness of the sweeper in the front of the machine (not the length of the handle), but I'm wondering if on the Haan Select having that telescoping handle makes a difference for people with back problems? Or is it more a gimmick?

Thank you!

No...I too have back problems from failed back surgery. This Mop doesn't glide well, clean well, feel good in your hand or get hot enough. Barely even steams.

I have lower back problems as well. I don't use the extension handle and haven't had a problem with it tweeking my back. I have noticed though that when you first use it, it takes a few sweeps for the pad to get wet so it can be hard to push. Once it's wet I feel like it glides easier.

Overall, the unit is very light and easy to use.

Velcro. It holds secure enough, and washing the pads does not seem to loosen the grip.

NWAY, it isn't hot enough, and puts out very, very little steam. I hate mine, and stopped using it. Waited too long to return it.

It will kill all stages but eggs. You may want to also purchase some Borax and sprinkle on the carpet before using the steam on it, then vacuum thoroughly when you are done.

answer 2
The main difference between the two models is that the SI 60 offers adjustable steam cleaning technology that is not available in the SI 40. With the SI 60, you can choose a low steam setting for delicate hardwood floors or everyday cleanups, and then you can choose the high steam setting for durable tile flooring or particularly stubborn stains. You cannot adjust the steam output on the SI 40. There is a slight difference in weight; the SI 40 is 5.5 pounds, and the SI 60 is 4.6 pounds. Also, the cord on the SI 40 is 19 feet 6 inches, while the cord on the SI 60 is 25 feet long.
