Not one worth using. It has a tiny one at the top and the only thing I've been able to pass through it is dental floss. Don't know why they even bothered.

No it does not but you can purchase an armband or waist band generic holder that will work. We purchased a foam armband holder and it works great. You just slip the player down into the holder and it stays put.

There is a very small opening that one of those thin string type lanyards should work with. The wide lanyards and ones with metal claps will be way too large.

Do you need to use the Songbird software?

Can you load and play songs on here without having to use the software?

When you plug the player into the USB port on your computer the first time, the player automaticlly installs the software to your computer. Then you are asked if you want it to get all the songs on your hard drive or you can find them yourself.

Hello. Yes. I use Windows Explorer to load my GoGear VIBE all the time. In fact, I never use Songbird. I just move the music files to music folder and the video files to the video folder. A primary reason I like the GoGear VIBE is the ability to manual place music and video on the player. I included a pic of windows explorer on my machine.

No built in speaker. Earphones or USB port to a stereo to play songs on your stereo. Also play songs on your computer from the software. Pick a "Playlist" and play all the songs while you work on Word or Excel or any software.

You can listen to this through your cars radio IF your radio has a USB port. If not you can purchase car radios that do have this. The other option is to buy a FM transmitter. The sound is OK and what it does is you plug in the transmitter to your headphone jack on the player and turn the player on, then turn on the transmitter and make sure your transmitter and car radio is tuned to the same station that is NOT in use. If you mostly drive in one area this works ok since the radio station freqs don't change.

I do not think so. It has an FM receiver, but not a transmitter. I had an MP3 that did that, but it cost hundreds of dollars and it never worked well because no radio station is open all the time when driving.

Car connectors are not included but you can get them separately. If your car stereo has a line-in, aux, or auxiliary jack, you can buy a cheap little cord to plug one end into the stereo jack, and the other into the Vibe's headphone jack. If you still have a cassette player, you can buy an adapter that's shaped like a cassette tape with a cord sticking out, then plug in the headphone jack and put the cassette end into your player. If you don't have a cassette player or input jack, you can buy an FM transmitter that plugs into your cigarette lighter and the headphone jack, then sound from your player comes through your car's FM radio. I use a transmitter made by Scosche that cost me about $25 3-4 years ago that works better than most others, but I do find myself having to change channels sometimes to avoid local station interference. The cost and quality of these transmitters does vary widely, however, none of them will work great in every town or city, and you'll never get audiophile sound quality from one, so make sure the store where you buy it has a good return policy and keep your receipt.

The software will find every song or sound file on your computer. Then you can delete (like the Windows sound files) or put songs in several "Playlist" and then download all "Playlist" or just 1 "Playlist". Player is recharged through the USB port when you plug it in the computer. To download "Playlist" plug in player before you turn on computer.

Device comes with earphones and USB cable. Software auto-loads from the web when you connect it to your computer via the included USB cable. My suggestion is to leave it connected for a while when you first plug it in to your computer so it can charge up. If you get a message that the software (SongBird) didn't load don't worry, the next time you connect the device to your computer it will try again and should load no problem.

I use my GoGear with both Audible audiobook downloads and Overdrive downloads through my local library subscription. I do not know if it will read audiobooks copied from CDs via your computer, but I do know it will play audiobooks from the above sources. The great thing about this player is that it will seamlessly move from segment to segment in order, and it will "bookmark" your place when you shut down the player and restart it. This is not true of all MP3 players.

Yes it is. I've been using Rhapsody for more than 5 years now so I will only buy MP3 players that are compatible. The SongBird software that it comes with will actualy link to your Rhapsody account. However, the Rhapsody software is a bit easier to use. It also allows you to load Rhapsody Channels onto the player.
