Customer Questions & Answers for
Swiffer Swiffer WetJet Starter Kit

Now you can make your floors shine without the hassle of a mop and bucket. The Swiffer WetJet cleans better than a mop to reveal more shine (on glossy ceramic tile, hardwood, and laminate floors) than traditional mopping, which can just redeposit dirt on floors. The floor cleaner helps prevent streaks and residue. The cleaning solution is also specially formulated to break up and dissolve tough messes. Then the thick, super-absorbent cleaning pad can trap and lock in those messes. When you're done, just throw the pad and all its dirt away. The Swiffer Wet Jet has a dual-nozzle sprayer, a strong-grip pole, and a flexible head. This bucket-less mopping system also features a powerful scrubby strip for breaking apart tough dried-on spots and messes. So give your mop and bucket the boot. Try the Swiffer WetJet, and give cleaning a whole new meaning.

They're supposed to be throw away, but the last pad I used wasn't that soiled when I finished cleaning so I rinsed it out with liquid dish detergent and warm water and let it air dry.. I re-used it earlier today on the wood floor throughout my living and dining room and it held up just fine!

answer 2
It comes in various scents, a large bottle and/or a small. Just turn upside down and insert small end into the compartment, push it down firmly and you are all set! You don't have to remove it between uses but if you want to use a different scent, just pull one out and insert another. Store them upright. Do NOT remove or tamper with the caps. The instructions are very clear and easy to understand.

Directions easily walk you through it. There is an arrow on one side of the liquid... you tip it upside down, and face the arrow against the mop handle and pop it in. The liquid had a lid that is broken open by the mop when inserted. Pretty cool... no mess...

I am sure once the floor is dry your pets will be ok. If not, this product would have been pulled from the shelves a long time ago. It has been around for quite a while and there would have many complaints if pets got sick after walking on the dry floor and the stores would have pulled the products from their shelves. In today's world people are very aware of dangers to pets, which is wonderful. I don't think the wet floor would hurt them - but I am very careful to make sure my cat doesn't walk on the floor while still wet for two reasons... My first reason is simply because I am very careful what he comes in contact with. My second reason is because if the floor is still wet I would have little paw prints everywhere he walked.

Your asking the question like your speaking to a Walmart Associate. Well, your speaking to a Walmart customer.

If your talking in general, you can use anything. Now do you want it to spray through the swifter spray system, think again- special bottle.

Poindexter2148
answer 2
I suppose if you had a way of injecting the fluid in there, you could use your own. The only problem is that you would make a mess putting in on the unit. The wetjet solution bottle has a little rubber/plastic seal that punctures when it is inserted on the swiffer unit. So, if you refilled it with something else, part of it might spill if you put it back on there. I've never tried it, but I did think about it - the solution is pretty cheap, so the risk of cleaning up a mess seemed like too much to me.

The Swiffer WetJet device and refills are specially designed to work together and clean your floors. Other brands may damage your WetJet or your floors and will void your warranty. Swiffer Sweeper dry and wet refills also should not be used on the device. Use only SWIFFER WETJET refills with your device.

answer 4
Maybe. If you intend to sweep your floor(s) with a mop, I suggest that you use the Swiffer Sweeper. It absorbs dust that you see and dirt that you don't see. The decision whether to sweep before using Swiffer Wet Jet depends on the cleanliness or dirtiness of the floor. On the head side of Swiffer Wet Jet, there is a good scraper for hard-to-remove scuffs and dirt that clings to the floor.

answer 5
I would definitely sweep, or if you have pets, if you have a vacuum that can be used on bare floor, do that too first. The swiffer grabs stuff, but if there is a bunch of dirt, you'll get these "lines" of dirt and debris when you push the swiffer forward and then stop and pick up the head of it. Of course, you can wipe those up. But you will always get better results with a swept floor. :) Also, if you have an imitation wood floor, make sure not to spray too much solution that it is still wet for a while. I've noticed those types of floors can "bubble" with any type of cleaning liquid (goes for regular mops too). Good luck.

I ALWAYS USE A SWIFFER SWEEPER BEFORE USING MY SWIFFER WET JET. THIS MAKES SURE THE LOOSE DIRT, GRASS, CRUMBS, ETC. ARE REMOVED BEFORE MOPPING THE FLOOR. IT'S STILL MORE EFFICIENT THAN USING A BROOM, DUST PAN AND ANY OTHER TYPE OF MOP!

Question

Has anyone else had the problem with the Swifter WetJet multi-purpose solution leaving a film?

I have been noticing my ceramic tile floor dirty and discovered it has a film on it. It is the wet jet multi-purpose cleaner. Also my laminate floors were sticky after using this cleaner. I had to use my regular cleaner many times to get rid of the film and stickiness. Am I doing something wrong.

You are using a pad too much and just spreading your grime and germs all over. I use multiple pads so that the last pad I use is clean as new. Change your pads. If the floor is larger than an average bathroom floor - your gonna need more pads. Even my average bathroom, I use two pads. 1st pad using disinfectant cleaner, change pads and do it again. These pads don't hold much so expect to buy lots of pads.
