Yes, it can be used with a lapbelt only, provided the lapbelt does not have Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR), or do not use with a lapbelt that has a motorized shoulder belt, or do not use if the lapbelt is forward of the seat crease. This car seat comes with a LATCH belt (I use this system). You can check your vehicle owner's manual for installation requirements.

The car seat can be installed with a lap belt only. However when being used as a booster seat it can not be used with a lap belt only. I have installed this seat in several different vehicles with lap belt only as well as with a standard shoulder/lap combination. It installs easily, but you may need a metal locking clip to install it which comes with the seat. Hope that helps!

The weight limit for the harness is 65 lbs. The manual says that it can be used for kids up to 52" tall, but that is a rough estimate. The top harness slot height is around 18" tall (which is very high.) Once your kid's shoulders get to 18" or they hit 65 lbs, you have to switch to booster mode. My 41" high daughter still has tons of room in the harness (about 3-4 inches until she hits the top slots.)

20-65lbs. Almost every child will outgrow it by height before weight, though. This is not a downside to the Nautilus, though. It's true for most every car seat Forward Facing.
Please really consider not using this at 20lbs, though. That's way, way to small to forward face. If you're partial to Graco and have a child 3 or under (and below 40lbs), consider the Graco MyRide.

Question

I know they're not identical, but does this seat have the same features & safety as the Nautilus 3-in-1 Bravo seat?

The Bravo appears more plush & has tons more ratings, but it doesn't come in girl colors. Of course, that's not the most important thing, but if it's basically the same seat I prefer the girl colors for my granddaughter. Also, Do the recline options work for front-facing?

No. Has option for "recline" but just so you can adjust it to fit to your car. Just sits straight up. Not really 3 in 1, so I wouldn't use it for anyone less than 3 years old or 3 in height and weight equivalent. Your child will sit straight up in this car seat.

It does recline, but just a little bit... not sure how much recline you are looking for. I keep ours fully reclined all the time just so they can more easily rest their heads and relax (and if they fall asleep, they are less likely to be hunched over). Hope that helps!

the convertible is for toddlers. the 3-in-1 is for toddlers up thru 100lb kids. the 3 is for the 1) the five point harness, 2) the high-back booster w/the seatbelt and 3) the booster seat w/the seatbelt.

"valerie" "erica" or "bravo" differentiates the design of the fabric.

The only difference is the pattern. One pattern can cost more than another. Or one pattern might be newer than the other.

It is best to read about these seats IN the store. If you look at these two seats on this site, you will notice one pattern is described as harnessing to 60lbs and another harnesses to 65lbs. ALL NAUTILUS's harness to 65. One also says it has a stay - in - car base. This seat does NOT have a base, it is one unit.

It lies flat if you need it to store but the bottom arms are pretty tall like eight inches high so it might stick up too high if you have other stuff in your trunk. If you are putting it on the bottom, it will fit fine. It is long though when you lay it out.

I wouldn't recommend it even if they do if you need the full seat because the way it is designed would make it more of a hassle than just moving the full seat from one car to another if you have the latches in your car as most newer cars do. I have a Camry from 2003 and it has the three metal latches, two at the seatbelt area and one on the headrest area. It is fairly easy to install the whole seat this way. If you just need the booster part, I'm not sure which would be better...

answer 4
no there is no base for this carseat. its all one piece, its not like the infant carseats that come with bases. this is one whole carseat and if you already have one of these carseats, you can only use it in one vehicle. You can unhook it and move it to another but I wouldn't suggest it as once this is in place correctly its a pain to unhook and move around..

This car seat doesn't have a base unit, but a booster seat. It would be more work to get the back off the seat and put it in other cars, than it would be to take the seat belt and latch off. It does not have a base that you can buy separate.
