This device does not. I have purchased this device along with an Apple TV, and for 50 more bucks, just buy the apple TV, which does allow streaming from hard drives.

This media device is only used for streaming, You do need a computer to sign up for things like Netflix (which offer a 1 month free trial) Pandora and the others will also have you sign up and or pay for there service.

The box says that it is a Wi-Fi Streaming Media Player so I believe that it is only for streaming. The device connects to your wi-fi and then you connect it to your TV (there's only outputs from the device). You will also need accounts from Netflix, Hulu-Plus, Pandora, etc. to actually enjoy the content. Hope this helps.

Streaming only. No hard drive or storage space. There is no usb plug either--only power, hdmi, and composite. (no network either so wireless only). The whole thing's not much bigger than a deck of cards.

The only cables required are the power and HDMI cables. You will ideally want to place this in a central location where it can receive a wireless signal, but you shouldn't have any problems.

if you have a wifi connection nearby it will pick it up. took this box to neighbors house and it picked up my router from about 600 ft away. I'm sure that will vary depending on the router you are trying to link with.

no, it doesn't have an analog-to-digital TV converter built-in (FYI, Walmart does sell the RCA DTA800B1 analog-to-digital TV converter).

The DSB772WE Streaming Media Player streams online services via your Wi-Fi connection with the internet.

answer 5
Yes, just connect the yellow RCA-style jack and red&white RCA-style audio jacks using a standard AV cable. The picture quality should be just as good as what you experience when you connect other content sources (eg, DVD player, set-top box....) to your "non-HD" TV using a Yellow-Red-White analog AV cable.

This is NOT a wireless router.

You must have a wireless router to use it. Preferably one that supports N protocol. I recommend Belkin wireless routers. Not cheap, but bulletproof.

You must also have a rather fast DSL or Digital Cable connection.

No you don't need HDMI. It has the analog Audio Video output as well. So if your old school tv has the red, white, and yellow connection inputs you will be ok. most normally do.

answer 3
In order to receive the 1080p quality from the device you need two things. One is a HDMI cable (not included) which will provide the best view quality from the device itself. Second would be for your internet service speed to be fast enough to stream the best quality, otherwise you would get a lot of wait and buffering or lower quality picture.
