Question

Width - Exact or Range of Widths for Twin/Full?

What is the exact width or range of widths if adjustable, for the Twin/Full? Also, has anyone used an IKEA slatted bed base rather than a box spring for a twin bed, and if so, which one worked for you?

I concur with the previous answer 100%. After much frustration, we determined that the Full size setting adjusts to only 53" wide, instead of the 54" needed.

No, I don't think this will work. The slots are for the side railings that usual ly show on a sleigh bed. I have a sleigh bed. Completely different breed of cat. If you used this, you would have to modify the headboard and footboard so that it could be BOLTED to the frame. Then you wouldn't have a sleigh bed. It would just be a bed with a Headboard and a footboard. No side rails

You can use it without a head or foot board. Then, when you decide or get the money add them.

Ours actually did not come with the center bar... We did not use a boxspring since it's for my 2 year old daughter so my husband had to attach "legs" to a piece of plywood.

It's pretty self explanatory. If you've ever set up a bed frame before you'll know how to do this. The brackets are on each end which is where you bolt the headboard and footboard to. This would not work I don't think for a bed that requires railings.

Question

King Sleigh Bed

My king sleigh bed has 3 wood slats going across horizontal. But my bed is extremely heavy and I strongly feel there needs to be CENTER support.

I have purchased good quality wood from Home Depot but the bed still sinks a bit.

Is there a way i can use this as vertical center support?

There would not be enough room for slats and your box spring to sit down in the lip of the frame in my opinion. The vertical steel support on this frame and the horizontal slats built into your box spring should give you enough support. Perhaps if you nail/screw or staple the slats to the box spring it would work and fit properly.

The frame uses "keys" to size various sized mattress. Also, the cross bars swivel to attach to the main side rails, so one could swivel the cross bars back onto the main side rail. The only parts that bolt on are the brackets for the head/foot boards.
