12-15 hours the first time, then charge for 12 hours anytime its used. Sealed lead acid batteries go bad from NOT being cycled, so if you use them charge them.

Yes.
1. mark the forward side of the gear shifter, then Remove the gear shifter from the quad using a phillips screwdriver.
2. disconnect the power blocks from the bottom noting which will be re-connected to the right and left later.
3. open the gear shifter and clean out all the spider webs and egg sacks in it with Electrical Contact Cleaner.
4. repeat step 3 on the outside of the blocks, then reattach the power blocks.

It fits a 14 month old well. I would say a year old to 2 or 2 1/2 years old. Depending on how big the child is. A child will outgrow this pretty fast but it is good for a starter atv.

You can. I have bought almost 5 of them already! You have to charge them every 30 days even when they are not getting used (winter). If not the fluid inside will dry out. I would check the fuse though, too. We've had to replace a few of those also. But you have to go to the yamaha raptor page and you can pull up replacement parts. I think they are right around $40 each. If you still have your owners manual, that will also tell you how to order more! :) Good Luck, hope that helps. But I dont think walmart sells them anymore, the batteries they sell are a newer version and the adapter dont fit, it is smaller.
