on Hugo Elite Rollator Walker with Seat, Backrest and Saddle Bag, Blue
Gloria, I am sorry to read of your desperate need for a Hugo rollator. A rollator is a walker with a seat. I hope by now u were successful in obtaining one. In MY local Walmart, the Hugo rollator is not sold. I bought mine online but had asked the local Walmart store manager IF I could return it to the store if it was NOT comfortable to use. I asked her if I could return it WITH FULL REFUND and she said I could. I do not know if Walmart or/and Walmart.com provide free the rollators to folks like u. I suggest u call. There is a charity foundation but I have not a clue who is eligible. WHERE is Duncan? What state? I have no idea what social service agencies are in Duncan and nearby towns who could get u that rollator. Catholic Charities? United Way? Local social service agencies? Medicaid or /and Medicaid offices for your area and state? In 2014 I am told by a Walmart pharmacy manger, Walmart will have a contract with Medicare for Medicare beneficiaries whose doctors write scripts and indicate MEDICAL NECESSITY to purchase rollators and walkers. I JUST DO NOT KNOW NOW if EVERY MANUFACTURER OF THE ROLLATORS AND WALKERS WOULD BE INCLUDED. I was told that a person on Medicare could get once in 5 years ONE medical product if doctor writes medical necessity. Of course I do not know if EVERY WALKER AND EVERY WALKER IS INCLUDED. PERHAPS YOUR LOCAL PHARMACIST AT WALMART CAN TELL U AS WE GET CLOSER TO 2014. PERHAPS MEDICARE CAN TELL U. 1 800 MEDICARE IS THE TOLL FREE NUMBER. PERHAPS YOUR LOCAL CHURCH CAN INQUIRE ON YOUR BEHALF FOR A FREE WALKER OR ROLLATOR. THE HUGO COST ME $130 I BELIEVE, MAYBE $120. I FORGOT THE EXACT COST . AT THE TIME I NEEDED TO BUY ONE, IT WAS NOT OFFERED BY ANY RETAILER ONLINE OR IN THE STORE AS A PRODUCT ACCEPTED FOR MEDICARE COVERAGE. CHEAPER ROLLATORS AND WALKERS WERE OFFERED BY RETAILERS WHO ACCEPTED MEDICARE ASSIGNMENT. Hope this helps. Please reply Gloria and let me know how u and your hubby are doing. Today is Sept 11, 2013. GOOD LUCK. rita ps Perhaps your local doctor or physical therapist or priest can assist u in getting this product - either free or at reduced cost. Price would vary from retailer to retailer. I bought it on walmart.com and found out in advance from the local store manager if I could return it WITH FULL REFUND to the local Walmart if it was not comfortable. Manager said I could so i ordered it.
I'm sorry that I'm too late to help YOU, Gloria, but I would suggest contacting your local Lions Club. Often families will donate used medical equipment odds and ends when a relative passes or no longer can use them,. They almost always have a large number of wheelchairs, canes, etc to lend out.
If there is no grant - look up used medical equipment in the yellow pages. Also, if there is a freecycle web page (firstname.lastname@example.org), go on there and ask for one.
