Yes Cyn, this unit plugs right into any wall plug. You need to have at least a 15 amp breaker on the circuit you plug into... But if the 15 amp outlet is wired into the same circuit you are using for a lot of other big draw items like your fridge.... you may need to get an electrician to upgrade that circuit to at least a 20 amp breaker. This is not a major expense and worth it if you don't have many other options for A/C ing your home. Call around and tell them what you need to do and see if maybe someone will do this for you on the cheap..... use that womanly charm. Also be sure you have a window close to that plug that is the sliding type window.... the kit that comes with these only works in the ones that slide up and down or across. If you have the one that slides across you need to be sure the kit will cover the up and down measurements of that window.
