The main filter where the coffee capsule goes does remove so you can use the re-usable filter. We have purchased the re-usable filter but have not used it yet, but we will.

Yes. I just bought this machine at our local Wal-Mart together with Keurig reusable coffee filter, the filter fits, but you need to take K-cup Portion Pack Assembly housing out (part #11 in the manual). We just tried to brew few cups of Gevalia coffee we had at home, works just fine, it tastes better in this machine compared to a drip system we had before.

Yes, anything that requires hot water, including instant oatmeal can be made with this. There are K-cups of tea and hot chocolate, as well as you can just put your mug under the spigot and use it for hot water.

Yes, we do hot chocolate and hot tea k-cups in ours, as well as some of the "cappuchino" ones that are already sweetened/creamed (Kroger brand is good). I prefer espresso blend drinks like iced mochas.... and I found Cafe Escapes (that's the brand) Cafe Mocha, and it tastes like when you make hot chocolate and add some coffee to it... super yum. With both of these pre-sweetened/creamed ones it also tastes great to make a cup, let it sit for a while, add ice and shake for a yummy iced latte/mocha!

Yes it does. It costs about $25.00 at Wal-Mart and we have purchased it. As of date, we have not used it but we will. The main filter holder where you place the small cup of coffee or tea removes and the re-usable filter fits right in. As soon as we use it I will post how it worked, but if it does as it claims, then we are sure it it will be a welcomed addition to this unit!

You can. There is a separate coffee holder you can purchase for somewhere over $15 (might have actually been closer to $18) but it's not as good, there's an oily film that will be on the top of the cup, and I also found grounds in my coffee. There is something with the lid of the cup (filter for your own grounds) that is not secure. I would not waste my money on this additional piece when you can get these cups at Sam's Club by the case for so much less than in the store.

Yes, it does- just by the K-Cups that say you need to brew the product over ice. Meaning put ice in your coffee cup prior to brewing for those specific drinks.

Question

Why can't we get a full cup of coffee (12 oz.) without turning pot back on 3 times?

This is our 3 rd coffee pot; 2 Keurig that did not give us a hot cup of coffee nor a full cup. We bought the Mr. Coffee and it does the same thing. We have cleaned the filter and use the k-cups and nothing works.

answer 2
This is likely the water and idea that it all has to pass through that little hole in the top, then through the cup itself. This happened with me as well because of calcium build up. I think these machines are great but they cannot as readily handle harder water. I use the inexpensive bottled water and now NEVER have a problem. Hope this helps.

Have you tried clearing the needles? There is a needle at the top and one at the bottom. I think there is a video on You Tube for this. Difficult to explain the technique in text, but it usually works. You will need a large straight pin or unfolded paper clip, and a damp rag. Please unplug your unit first! Run your pin or paperclip through the opening of the needle. Be very careful, the needles are sharp! wipe the needles with your rag when you are done. Plug it back in and run three cycles of just water. Do not insert a K-Cup or a re-usable filter! Leave it empty. You will probably see old grounds in your cup when the water is running out. If you still aren't getting the right amount of water out by the third pass, try the cleaning/descaling instructions.

If you were reusing the cup it's possible to get grounds in the coffee. Also, there must have been something wrong with the coffee keurig cup you were using to cause that problem. We use the Green Mountain cups and have never had a problem.

Sounds like a stupid response, but I actually did it. When I took a k-cup out one time, it was a bit tight so the whole cup part in the machine came with it and I threw it away with the k-cup still inside. The next cup I tried to make spewed water and granules all over the place. I noticed there was no hole in the bottom of the k-cup so looked to see if the needle was obstructed but couldn't find it. I don't know what made me look in the trash but that was the problem.
