I use a mixture of white vinegar and water. I make 2 passes and that is all. You may have a problem with the maker

Josh is correct. The recommendation is to clean it once a month. Put half water, half distilled white vinegar into the water reservoir. Push the brew button (3x) until red clean light is on. Let the unit run the clean cycle until all the water in the reservoir is gone. If you are still getting the blinking light, it is possible you stopped the cleaning process before it was done. It will run about 4 cups and then stop for a bit, but it will continue on until all the water is gone - so give it some time to work its magic. It will beep when it is completely done. I stopped mine before it was finished and the red blinking light came back on instantly. So I ran it through the cleaning process 2 more times and the last time I actually used 12 cups of water and just let it go until I finished watching a movie. That's how I found out it will start and stop on its own until the process was completed.

Did you clean it as directed? Use an equal amount of water and vinegar and pour into the unit. Place an empty filter into the bucket and then allow to clean. Once this is finished, clean the pot out very well to getrid ofany cleaner left. do all the steps over again but without any vinegar. I believe it says to use 4 cups?.... I usually use almost an entire pot and leave a little less vinegar out. It works great for me. If this continues to be a problem after all these steps then I would return it for another unit. Mine has never had this issue, no issues in fact. Good luck!
