answer 5
Like most vacuums, it does not do well on bare floors. Another reviewer suggested a great idea: Use a broom to sweep into a corner of the floor, then use the vacuum wand to pick up the sweepings. That works very well! There is a bare floors-to-variable carpet pile mechanism.

As for noise: I'm surprised how little there is. Of course there is some noise, but it is the least noisy I've owned yet. Not since my grandmother's Electrolux pull-behind tube have I found anything that I would call "quiet." I'm sensitive about the noise of vacuums, and this one is the easiest to take that I've found in the price range.

answer 12
It offers five height options. Even at the highest it maintains great suction. My bag less vacuum would roll over bathroom rugs on the highest level with no problem. This one is still so strong it sucks the rugs too much to use on them. I wouldn't recommend for bare floors due to the dirt the brush kicks back. I use my Bissell 3in1 which works awesome on our hardwoods.

It is quieter than my Eureka bag less. I actually wish it were a tad louder because noisy vacuuming helps my baby fall asleep.

Only partially. You have to attach the top handle to the bottom vacuum. But it isn't hard to do. You will need a standard sized Phillips-head screwdriver to attach the handle to the body, and to tighten the hose end to the machine. If you have trouble doing this, you might get a niece, nephew, neighbor to do it for you. It is quite simple.

If you don't use it often or it doesn't fill much within a month, change the bag anyway. At least monthly. Or isf you use it often, your vac will feel a bit heavy and it is time to change the bag. When is question just pop the front off and feel the bag. I never let the bag fill to the line!

answer 9
I open the front of the machine every time I use it and lightly press the bag to see if its full. It took 2 months for mine to fill and it was mostly carpet fuzz. It will all depend on how much dust and hair you have in your carpet.

answer 11
I change the bag after every one or two uses. The bags are so inexpensive that it's not prohibitive. If you leave a dirty bag in the machine for a while, it will stink up your house the next time you turn it on because of all the old dirt and debris that's inside the bag. But, there is usually an indicator on the machine that tells you if the bag is full.

Question

what about pet hair --

I bought a pet hair eraser bagless -- spend more time unclogging the dirt path, removing the cyclone thingy, etc than I do vacuuming. It's heavy and static electricity is downright scary. Emptying the dirt cup is gross! And the pet hair mostly stays on the carpet. How does this unit do with pet hair?

Bought this 2 months ago at the store to try as a back up. Have used it since almost everyday instead of my main vac to try it out. Picks up my dog's short hair nearly as well as my Eureka Boss and I have had no clogs even letting the bag get pretty stuffed full with hair. Pet hair does cling to the new shiny plastic.

answer 9
I have 3 cats and so obviously pet hair is a concern. After just using a few times, it seams to do well sucking it up. But when I laid it down and looked at the bottom, there was cat hair stuck to all the plastic surfaces from the static electricity. I am just going to take a wet paper towel and wipe it off after I use it, just so it doesn't build up or blow off and back onto the floor. I'm glad I didn't get one of those sweepers that has a "pet hair strip" on the front because all they do is fill up in 2 seconds and then are useless. This one just attracts it because of the static electricity. I think your gonna have that problem no matter what vac you use.

Yes, it comes with one Frebreze bag installed in the vacuum. If you, like my family, have an allergy or breathing issues related to Frebreze products, I would recommend purchasing additional bags at the same time as you purchase the vacuum.

Yes, I just got this one and it came with 1 Febreeze bag already installed but that is it. And the Febreeze stuff is really nothing to get excited about. It's literally like a little business card on the back side of the BAG that you just pull this little tab that tears open the front of this plastic wrapping that is around the card. The card is sprayed with Febreeze. That's all it is. You could literally make one by just spraying Febreeze on a card and taping it to the bag.

As soon as I use the 1 Febreeze bag that came with the sweeper, it will be an "Arm & Hammer" Bissell Powerforce because I will then be using the A&H bags (see below) The Febreeze thing is only a marketing thing as the sweeper itself, although having a sticker that says "Febreeze", has nothing to do with Febreeze unless you continue to buy Febreeze bags.

But the answer is it does come with 1 bag.

I suggest buying the 9 pack of Arm & Hammer bags I bought online along with this sweeper. I just rec'd them on 12-31-12 and there were actually 4 bags! Each box said: "Free bonus Bag 3+1", so instead of getting 9 total bags I got 12! Here is the link I used:

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Arm-Hammer-9-Pack-Odor-Eliminating-Vacuum-Bags-Bissell-7-153-Premium-Allergen/5799588?t=1&

I can't guarantee you will get the ones with an extra bag as it didn't show it in the picture or the description when I bought them, so you may just get 9 bags, but I got 3 boxes of 4 = 12 total bags! Good luck!

Oh and the sweeper is great for the $.

Hope this helps.
